Never saw this redirect to /missing on aminet.net... Does anyone know the issue?

Oh well, long live mirrors I suppose:)

AMIGASYSTEM 11 April 2019 21:11

It's been happening for some time now, and then he comes back, if you need to download what is an alternative :)

Aminet down... (apr 2019)

Aminet is down again - thanks (I suspect) in part to the recent mysql update - is there anyone here who has a line to a/the maintainer(s) that can fix it?

DamienD 17 April 2019 00:15

From memory, doesn't Korodny have something to do with Aminet?

Try sending him a PM or e-mail ;)

Devlin 17 April 2019 14:12

Will do in the future - seems to be back up again now.

Nightshft 12 November 2019 02:11

Is Aminet down for you too?
Does anybody know why?
It's such an awesome repository :great ...wonder if the maintainer(s) need something... :shocked

chip 12 November 2019 04:21

Yes, aminet is down for me too

No idea why, anyway

Try another mirror in the future. For example de.aminet.net.

Thanks, I did manage to find that mirror due to DDG caching a summary of the mirrors page for aminet.

Granted it doesn't have the shiny search page. That's how I managed to find MMULib and the few things I needed though!

Predseda 12 November 2019 07:55

It has been down from yesterday evening.

it would be nice to include lha since pretty much everything on aminet is compressed in lha. And in the case of what I was trying over the weekend, Aminet was down so I couldn't download lha and install it.

When Aminet is down you can always get stuff from the FTP ;)

zipper 12 November 2019 11:03

It's back again.

chip 12 November 2019 12:08

I can confirm .... today is working again :p

Ha, wonder how much space is required to become an aminet mirror...

NLS 13 November 2019 19:25

Not as much as you think.
It is less than 60GB AFAIK.

malko 13 November 2019 20:40

If it's so few space, was it already discussed (RCK, Turan, other ?) for EAB (a small place on the serveur) to be an Aminet mirror ?

Exodous 13 November 2019 20:52

I have a full local mirror of Aminet - the initial sync took a bit of time, but update syncs take a few seconds.

The mirror is 54GB (56,796,859,225 bytes) and consists of 166,264 files.

Remember when Aminet was the largest software archive on the internet? It held that status into the late 90's.

Locutus 13 November 2019 23:01

I seriously doubt that was ever really true.

BippyM 13 November 2019 23:35

Let's get back on topic please..
