That's what lofts are for (2 children currently asleep in their own rooms... I've got more space now for "projects" than I've ever had!

Hi. On a somewhat related note, how long do you think the current hardware will last before it breaks down? I just lost my 1994 1200 and had to replace it. I'm onto my third one now.

The Minimig is cool. If it would support 8 meg fast (or even better 8 meg chip :) and hard files I'd get one in a flash.

The 1200/600 seem to suffer the worst with reliability issues - with the amount of problems you see on here at times... maybe it's because they're probably the most used nowadays. Their build quality though (imo) seems a lot inferior to the earlier stuff like 1000/500/2000/3000. The 4000 is a better bet than a 1200 as long as the battery is removed of course. Don't hear many problems with the 32 as much though with the AGA gear...

I guess on a note of how long will it last... well... these will probably need replacing or removing...

caps/resistors
FDD head/mechanicals
on-board Battery - remove it, noooow :)

are a good start... I'd also try and use a newer PSU as the C= PSU's are carp.

:) That's two 68030/68882 machines sharing the one VGA monitor :)
One is a TT and the other one is a 2k :)

Good job the 2k case is so sturdy! :D

I think it was said in other thread already by other user, but the future is emulation.

For how long can the machines stand has they are without giving problems and dying?

My A500 has 20 years, and works like day one. But I much doubt it would last another 20, unfortunately. :(
