I am having issues:

1. When I press "Load Data" I get an error:
Cannot find FTP folder!

2. When I press "Download" button it tells me the amount the files to be downloaded and when I press "Yes" it looks like it connects to the FTP but nothing happens following that.

mrprawns 21 December 2021 17:40

Aye same "cannot find ftp folder" on clicking "Load Data".

The FTP Folder in the client is "Retroplay WHDLoad Packs" which is the default, I haven't changed this at all.

Does download work for you?

I see. Yeah, that sounds like a pain. I was lucky with my FTP routine in my version in that it grabs the entire login text, so easy to see errors..

I edited my post a few posts up as I found some "wrong" things =)

4 anonymous users downloading from the Retr0play packs right now, so seems to work fine for others (and me).

I'll update the info in the next version.

Blinking flip, where did this come from? Amazing, love it. I was using WinSCP before now to sync my set with the FTP server, this method works OK, but of course you can't filter out non English games etc so you end up with loads of files you are never going to use. This is a superb tool, thanks so much for sharing. Very impressive.

Just one request, would it be possible to add the Magazine folder to this? or possibly add the option to ignore folders when scanning existing sets? It keeps telling me that I don't need the Mag files, but I'd like to keep them. Thanks.

I'll have a look into it...

Just used it for the first time and I love it, I am so stoked about this tool. I just noticed one small bug (I think) when loading a custom saved prefs file it does not load the status of the "use sub folders" and "use 0-Z Subfolders" checkboxes, I have them checked but they are unchecked when loading the file. Apart from that I did not see any other issues.

I have since rebooted and still the same, nothing is connected to the ftp. I have tried with the annon username/password and with my own with the same results. Not sure what else I can do.

It's either a timeout issue or a VPN issue. I'm working with a chap who has the same issue to try and work out a fix. I did see someone on Facebook say that if you are using a VPN it can block access.

Yeah no VPN for me, even checked to see if it was the windows firewall. But no dice. I will keep trying things and let you know if I get in or not. Ask the other guy what ISP he is with? I am with Sky not sure if there doing something or not.

--EDIT--

Are there any runtime files I need?

GaryBrighton 21 December 2021 23:32

im getting the same "Cannot find FTP folder" error.

VPN turned off and using sky as my provider.

Can connect with Filezilla without a problem

edit: just tethered my phone to laptop after confirming that it would not connect on my sky wifi and it worked perfectly on the phone data. Hope that helps narrow it down a little

Ok thats quite interesting that your with Sky too.

nivam 22 December 2021 07:43

Can connect using traditional ftp tools, but this always gets me "Cannot find FTP folder"

Turran 22 December 2021 08:31

Can one of you having problems PM me your external IP? (checkip.dyndns.org)

When you send it, try connecting with the tool a few times but do NOT connect with a normal working connection. I want to see if I can check server logs what goes wrong.

I am not sure what protocol the tool uses, but another thing the users can try that is having problems is switching between connection types.

I am not sure what they are called in Filezilla, but something like "FTP Using explicit SSL (Auth SSL)" or "FTP Using explicit SSL (Auth TLS"). They should be found on the connection to the FTP.

There should also be a "normal" mode with no encryption. All 3 modes should work. If you find one that does not work in filezilla (or whatever client you use), that could be the one the tool uses and its blocked by Sky.

I've noticed a funny thing, might not be an issue with WDT, might be an issue with the DAT on the FTP server, not sure but there are 5 files it do not download.

GunbeeF99_v1.1_AGA.lha
Marbleous_v1.1.lha
MegaBlast_v1.1.lha
PinballBrainDamage_v1.0_AGA.lha
PulsatorDemo_v1.1_AGA.lha

When I check on the file server they are not there, but they seem to be in the DAT so WDT tries downloading them but doesn't. Should I report this to Retroplay?

Turran 22 December 2021 11:04

Yup =)
