Sadly I don`t have the hardware anymore.
So I`d be relying on someone if he`s willing to send out.
Yes he has the full three disk game :)
Thanks DD. I`ll cover any costs ..
Oh and where do I post the Q&A I did with him ?

You could post in this thread I guess or maybe create a new one under the Amiga scene section ;)

Best case scenario would be for some trusted Canadian EAB member, preferable close by to Steve in Ontario, who has the required hardware in order to image these disks properly, and have the disks sent to him / her.

Firstly, great work and persistence Stainy! :great

As for dumping the disks, I wonder if clenched in the U.S. is a possibility? He's very trustworthy and meticulous in all things Amiga that I've observed from him. I guess it's a matter of whether he's willing and whether he has a Kryoflux/SuperCardPro or a suitable Amiga set-up for Kryoflux Free (I know he has real A500s) to dump the disks.

Akira would normally be another option in the U.S., but he's been MIA from EAB for over 18 months now. Consequently, he might not be a real option if it needs to be done in a reasonable timeframe.

DamienD 12 February 2020 12:33

You know I was going to suggest clenched last night but carried away with other threads / posts :p

Also, just a guess but I'd imagine there's probably no weird disk formats used on these disks so they can probably be imaged with standard disk --> ADF tools.

stainy 12 February 2020 13:28

Got a reply.
He has one copy of the game and is obviously hesitant of sending it out in case it gets lost of destroyed He`s confirmed the game is complete and four disks and there`s a manual ( although that`s at his parents place )
I`ll see what I can do..

Any EAB Canadian members close to Ontario?

Off the top of my head, there are a couple of obvious EAB regulars:

- kipper2k is in the Thunder Bay district in northwestern Ontario.

- klx300r is in Ontario's capital, Toronto.

Great1 thank you. Once I know which way Steve wants to go I might reach out to either of those.

:)

@stainy
Happy to assist.....keep us posted! :cool

stainy 14 February 2020 15:03

Ok.. so he`s in S. California, not Canada. That might make it easier.
Also he said there`s no copy protection in the game but it might have manual copy protection. Steve said that shouldn`t be a problem as he can get his parents to mail him the manual. He said there`s a Amiga group a couple of hours away he might check out.

I think even in the demo version there are numerous questions that you need to answer; if you get one wrong you start the game with limited heath / attributes.

Steve is still trying to get the disks imaged.
He asked his brother to check on other sets of disks at his parents house and no luck. So he is ( understandably ) a bit reluctant on sending his only set out.
I did find out that his Amiga and development stuff is still together ( again, at his parents place ) and he doesn`t trust his parents on sending it to him heheh .. I wouldn`t either to be honest. But some good news.
The manual is on the way to him, he will scan it for me and send that..

stainy 03 March 2020 13:48

A bit more info. He`s getting his development A1200 posted up to him. Then take it to someone close ( ish ) to get it recapped and possibly get the disks imaged :)

DamienD 03 March 2020 14:44

Sweet :great

Indeed!!! ;)

@stainy; I'm most certain that you've done this already, but please thank Steve for his generosity and time in order to make this reality; from the whole Amiga community :agree

You should even point him to EAB / this thread. Would be cool if he joined up :great

stainy 18 September 2020 14:36

I got the manual sent to me today :)

stainy 18 September 2020 21:35

ok.. I have cropped and cleaned up the scans into a pdf.

Zapotek 08 May 2021 09:52

Whatever happened to this?

Was there any more contact with Steve regarding the disks?

stainy 08 May 2021 14:15

Hi.. I`m in contact with him. I got the manual scanned and sent to me. There are lock downs still in effect in Canada ( where his parents ( and disks are )) so when that eases he can get to the disks, image them and send them to me!
