I meant it as an alternative to MP3's.

If you are at work and cannot install stuff, or if your device has no modplayer but has a Java capable webbrowser you are sorted ;)

Yep, those are exactly the reasons why I like such sites! :)

Plopbox looks like a great idea, shame it doesn't work in Opera.

If you want MP3s (or aac,wav,amr,8svx,aiff,vorbis,flac etc.) converted from Mods (or IT,XM,S3M and a whole bunch of MIDI formats) using only your browser then give Media Convert a try, it's not perfect but it does the job and even gives you a WAP link once it's finished for some retro-ringtone action.

I am currently trying looking for a nice cracktro mod to use as a ringtone. Anyway, I find XMPLay (www.un4seen.com) to be very good for converting mods, sids and some other custom formats into mp3, etc.

Why are you converting mods to .mp3? Why not convert them to .ogg?

ogg vorbis is 100% free and open.

cronos 14 October 2007 12:30

Yeah, I forgot about ogg format. I got into a habit of using mp3 because it was a universal format. But, ogg is widely supported now, so I should make the change :)
