Denis have already done eob 1 french translation

for better coherence and harmony of the translation, it is preferable that Denis continues.

But if you agree could help;)

>Denis
i am not sure

Hey, CFOU!, on a short unrelated note, SCUMMVM has recently added support for EoB and they said they're planning support for the original amiga version as well although they made no promises of supporting your version. Maybe you could give 'em a hand to make sure that would happens, because to be fair, yours has to be the best version of EoB I've ever played, and it would be shame not having SCUMMVM running it as well.

i have no contact with SCUMVM author but, i's sure that i'll happy if amiag aga version with automap was supported by scummVb;)

EOB I translation is finished, only remains for me to check sentences, same applies for EOB II, i have almost finished the translation, only the executable text remains, and it's done at 75% ;

since i'm jobless actually, i have the time needed to finish it :)

i have checked most files yesterday, removed errors in eob 2 level texts. i'll send to CFOU in a few moment the whole archive when done :)

Neil79 28 March 2013 14:59

I seem to have caused a riot of re-development for EOB :D

Win

dlfrsilver 28 March 2013 15:04

LAWL, i'm jobless actually, so i have time to take care and finish the 10% remaining :)

Was there ever a SAVE editor for EYE 1 and 2? I'd like to edit my characters, the level with the poison spiders is rather annoying!

Marcuz 03 April 2013 03:00

Not really for amiga, but you can try the zip file here as a guide do edit the hex values:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=65383

Marcuz 03 April 2013 11:42

Forgot to tell you, the "smart" way to face the spider levels (level 4 AND 5) is this:

from level 3 exits, you choose first the one where you DON'T meet Taghor; and search before the door for a fake wall to a room with a single spider; avoid being poisoned and then, backtrack to level 3; choose now the other exit, recruit Thagor; go around the whole sliding wall puzzle for collecting, I think a stone...
Ok, now you can face the puzzles in the central and western part of the level, where the spiders are few, or entirely avoidable.
Then go in the lover part of the level and search for the stairs to level 5, where the dwarves are encamped, and more spiders awaits you in the peripheral parts.
Avoid the spider zones and go to level 6 (its access in the south), where you'll be able to lure kenkus in secluded zones and kill them, let them respawn and go on, or at least make a lot of experience ny killing the ones that there are.
Now you may choose one of this two ways: if your cleric can cast at least two "neutralize poison" spell you can backtrack and face the two spider levels. Or, if not, you can go to the lover levels, make more experience, collect the bones of the cleric Ileria in level 7, and get back whenever you want.
Do notice however that there are at least two reasons why you'll have to return in any case to the level of dwarves when you are around doing level 10!

Neil79 03 April 2013 14:17

No idea what i'm doing with that zip file you provided, never any good at hex editing and it went over my head in the text file. I'm completely stuck now in that level, surrounded by spiders and can't get out. Poisoned too damn quickly :(

Could you please edit and max out my characters including HP, save provided below.

Marcuz 03 April 2013 16:59

naw, that would be too easy, sorry! :)

Neil79 03 April 2013 21:01

Na that means, I'm not going to do it because I don't or feel like it.

Hence i've gone over to the DOS automap version and using the editor there and got past those horrible spiders.

Ah well :)

Marcuz 03 April 2013 21:55

Well too easy to you not to me, but DOS was also a good solution.
However, cheating out of the game in Eye of the Beholder it's pretty much a waste of time, except for the odd item duplication: the game is really open to many exploiting strategies, and pretty much easy.
