After typing "avail chip" into shell, it says I have 845528.

Does that mean its using the 8375 agnus and the 501 expansion correctly?

TjLaZer 03 April 2013 02:54

yes you have 1MB chip RAM.

alexh 03 April 2013 17:22

If you wanted 2Mbyte chip you would need a 2Mbyte 8375 agnus and either a mod or a Mini-Mega / MegAChip. But you almost certainly won't need it. Spend your money on a Kipper2k FastRAM upgrade instead.

Thanks for the advice. I was eyeing up the fastRAM upgrade. Is it plug and play? Or do I need to mod the mainboard?

roy bates 03 April 2013 18:36

which one was you eyeing up?

Hoopz 03 April 2013 18:40

I was checking out kipper2k's A500 8mb board.

alexh 03 April 2013 20:04

It should be plug and play. No soldering.

You might want the A500 reloaction adapter too if you are going to add the CFIDE68k board (and close your case).

right on!

I've updated this fork: http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.co...t.aspx?id=1478 with information harvested from:
http://www.bboah-works.de/bboahfaq/i...ighlight=agnus

That's currently the only way I can update the fork I'm maintaining.

If you are aware of other entries that needs to be updated - please let me know.

Couple of questions:

As you already know you have a 1Mbyte Agnus which is compatible with the motherboard as is.

I don't think that having an 8375 Agnus is a requirement for a Super Denise. Yes you should be able to just plug and go.

No. This Agnus has no hardware select.

@bitman: the viper 630/m-tec 630 article states the accelerator is PCMCIA friendly while it's not, the ram is mapped in ZII space.
