Still he has a point, methinks EAbot, in spite of its amusing stupidity has a limited lifespan and should be eventually got rid off once ive run out of ways to poke fun at its limitations :D:D:D

Two things:

1) eabot does not respond at all to any /msg-commands. At least not to mine. This does not seem to be a temporary problem , I often try /msg eabot help but without any success.

2) I was away for a week and now eabot does not recognize me anymore. I didn't change my ISP or use a different IRC client now, everything is the same as before.

Any ideas?

as for recognizing you, this seems to be a random problem, but some irc op can explain it better than me i think

That command results in a "ERROR > 401: No such nick or channel name: help", at least on my end.

I'm in there, and I did not change anything since I last got recognized. Oh well, eabot seems to be quite picky ;) .

After spending years on the IRC, I have to say that bots are irritating at the best of times, but to have them talk back to you in a tarty manner is pathetic.

Let the bots keep the channel open, +o and +v people, but get rid of the crap and talk to each other! That's the idea of IRC after all.

It's been going for years, and they are no better or funnier after five minutes of some cretin whittering on with it.

Six years of newbies ask for a drink or peanuts in #EnglishPub sort of puts you off these bloody things.
