FLASHBACK - 100% working "english" version...

Created from the .ipd version, here are the .adf file CRC32's:

Flashback (1992)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 1 of 4) {CRC32 551e664e}
Flashback (1992)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 2 of 4) {CRC32 64065a5f}
Flashback (1992)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 3 of 4) {CRC32 20a0acef}
Flashback (1992)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 4 of 4) {CRC32 021e845d}

Grab "Flashback [adf from ipf].zip" from The Zone! while it lasts...

;)

100% working but UNCRACKED, do not forget!
Without a manual, this version is of no use.

Really??? That's funny, so how did I manage to finish it then without a manual andreas :confused

PS. If you read some of the posts in the thread "Fixing Flashback version.. Ongoing.." you will see that there is no protection on this version what-so-ever. The .adf files were created straight from the .ipf files i.e. 1885 Flashback 4 English OCS EU Retail: Delphine Collection:

http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=247575&postcount=88

I've play tested this and it's 100% working... Try it for yourself if you don't believe me ;)

andreas 04 June 2006 00:59

Hell, I do!
But it's my memory that plays tricks on me. NO DAMN EXCUSE!!

You are right, I played the protected german version back in the days. And I really DREW (!!!) the symbols off my mate's manual on a sheet of paper. No wonder I could complete it ;)

So the english version did come without ANY protection then?
Cool! Thanks for the info and no offense :cool

(Moreover I played that one in the early 1990s, so it's no wonder either I can't remember there was a 2nd (or even 3rd) protection in some higher level.)

I would have thought that you did. No problem, my memories not what it used to be either ;)

Only the .ipf version "1885 Flashback 4 English OCS EU Retail: Delphine Collection" has no protection ;)

The other English version "1163 Flashback 4 English OCS EU Retail: v1.0 22.4.93" has protection...

Hey, no offense taken. Was just surprised by your response as I thought you would have been keeping up with these things plus do you really think that I would have posted this in 100% working if you needed a manual ;)

andreas 04 June 2006 01:13

Everything is possible :D :D
But seriously:
I would really like to know whether back in 1993, the unprotected version [1885] was released after [1163] or before! :shocked

The Delphine Collection was released in 1995.

...but you are right "everything is possible".

I guess it must have been later... Being part of the "Delphine Collection" I'm assuming it was a "best of / most popular" pack and they removed the protection to save on the costs of printing a manual ;)

Interesting Retro-Nerd, thanks for clarifying ;)

Makes me wonder, the version of Another World probably has no protection also...

I know we have a working "Crystal" cracked version but I think from memory that it skips 1 or 2 of the last stages, maybe due to a space issue... Need to investigate, I wonder if there's also an .ipf version from the same pack???

Yep, SPS 1881.

Cool, I think some more play testing is in order (of both the Crystal crack and then the .ipf you've mentioned) ;)

The reason why I said my comments about Another World is that after I originally playing the Amiga version on my A500 back the early '90s, I remembered also playing it on my friend's PC and there were 1 or 2 stages that were not on the Crystal cracked Amiga version that I had...

Retro-Nerd 04 June 2006 01:52

It seems your're right, the PC has an extra level:
Even the SNES and Genesis versions are different. The Amiga version was the shortest.

ROFL :laughing :laughing :laughing

That is exactly where I was going to say the levels were missing i.e. before the end but just after the part when you land in the pool...

Oh well, no need to test them then... Thanks for the info my friend, you've saved me some time that would have been wasted ;)

DamienD 06 June 2006 00:13

Game: Another World
Cracker: Created from the .ipf files "1881 Another World 2 OCS EU Retail: Delphine Collection"
Trainer: -
Files & CRC/MD5:
Another World (1991)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 1 of 2).adf {CRC32 1A077867}
Another World (1991)(U.S. Gold)(Disk 2 of 2).adf {CRC32 33CAFD48}
Notes:
The game works 100% ;)
Compared with the original release, this seems to be missing text in the ending (but is exactly the same as the .ipf files in which it was created from).
See the thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=23714 for more information...

Adderly 06 June 2006 00:23

hmmm, for the filename, mabye we should add the origin (Delphine Collection) and/or adjust the year to (1995). And the [!] flag of course! :)
From now on if someone has problems with a Delphine game i'll say "ask DamienD"... :D

Good idea, maybe this should be done with Flashback from the Delphine Collection also that I tested ;)

An another note... Many, many moons ago when I had an A500 I did actually complete the Crystal cracked version. Just to be absolutely sure again, I may play this tomorrow night while the game's fresh in my head. This way we'll have an alternative 100% verified version ;)
