I can't help, since the text files i have are SURELY different from the ones inside the 7z on the file server :(

Viceroy 24 April 2021 15:26

Why would they be different. CD has downloaded them from you?

chip 24 April 2021 15:29

Because those two text files are updated regularly :)

So the ones i own are changed, not the same inside the 7z on the file server :agree

Viceroy 24 April 2021 15:33

Ah I see ;-)

chip 24 April 2021 15:36

No problem :p

Notes.txt contains notes about the collection, like demos with corrupted graphics or sound for example :blased

Scanned.txt contains the name of folders from my Amiga collection which i analyzed for building ADA :rolleyes

So, as you can guess, nothing important for the use of the archive :)

Viceroy 24 April 2021 15:55

As I said I know its not important but it make my datfile status red as files are missing!

So you go to the trouble / extra effort to create / update these text files... but yet you cannot keep a text file on additions / changes with each new upload :rolleyes

Who cares? As long as you have all the main files ;)

Viceroy 24 April 2021 17:15

I care as it shows up as an error in all my Emu datfiles :-(

It's just a .DAT file...

Crashdisk shouldn't have included those text files really...

If it really bothers you then open the .DAT file with say Notepad++, remove the lines related to the text files and save ;)

Viceroy 24 April 2021 18:37

He will have included them because the dat will have made a note of every file in Chips ADA folder when creating the dat, none of this would be necessary if Chip would just release bloody updates!
I might just do that DD and remove the 2 txt files from dat ;-)

Crashdisk 24 April 2021 20:01

@Viceroy
I don't know if you use Filezilla, but you should read this :

Basically,text files are transformed when exchanging between Windows and Unix (carriage return). The FTP client must be set to handle text files as binary files.

Viceroy 24 April 2021 22:32

Well you did it again CD, many thanks that fixed it ;-)

chip 08 July 2021 11:38

I thinked a lot about this decision

If you read the thread you will notice that i get critics/polemics each time i do a release

The reason is the lack of updates

I will not change my mind about this, i don't like ADA structured like TOSEC

Since i am sure negative feedbacks will not going to finish, i am forced to not announce no more the releases

This means no more announcements about a new version of the collection

But at the same time this DOESN'T mean the project is dead

Indeed at the moment project is still active and it will be updated regularly (till i will not be tired of the project itself)

So this post is directed to ALL the people who are still interested in the archive

Please just check the date of the 7zip file on my upload folder on the ftp to see if a new version is out

I am sorry, but i am really tired to get the same polemics again and again, this is the only way

Thanks for attention, chip

chip 03 June 2022 12:20

Thanks for the report :)

Crashdisk 03 June 2022 23:22

@chip
I don't know if you know it but it is possible to identify a demo file with its CRC32 on the Kestra site :
(Unknown)-AccessXBbs.exe => CRC32 $26771E00

Not everything is on this site, but it could help you improve your pack...:agree

chip 04 June 2022 12:03

Thanks for the info :)

chip 22 June 2022 13:47

Just as info the last version of ADA contains 23.007 files for a total size of 5,82 GB ;)
