Nothing special about them, they are dynamically created images for supercomp competitors that show their all time record in the supercomp. Mine for example.

Perhaps a whitelist of allowable external image urls could be created (beyond scope of board software?)

That's why I think a custom BBCode would be easier to implement. A whitelist would also work of course if there's a way to use it. I'll ask RCK later to have a look.

I get what your saying now. I will wait and see what can be done.

Because the external images feature had been abused, it was disabled without the usual consultation. In hindsight, perhaps it would have been proper to post an announcement following this decision, and for that omission I apologize.

However, I have been wondering if there might be a workaround in the circumstances mentioned above, so here's hoping! :)

This evening, I actually got a flash crash message, as shown in the attached screenshot, together with the errant advert, but it didn't crash the browser.

Externals images in signature have been activated again :)
But this time, the max-height for the whole signature is limited to 100px.
