Which version has that soundtrack? So far the Genesis version rocks (even without the Tim Follin track). :)

Retroplay 12 July 2013 21:41

He did the SNES music.

Rock 'n Roll Racing is one of my all-time faves, played it to death back in the 90's. :)

StingRay 12 July 2013 21:41

Then I'll check the SNES version too and see which one is better. :)

Retroplay 12 July 2013 21:43

Remember, don't play in rookie mode or else you wont be able to reach the later levels. :)

dlfrsilver 13 July 2013 05:32

i have plugged my neogeo MVS (ouf, it has not burned, got it in my flat ;)), and inserted the cart of Art of fighting, this makes me remember when i was 16, and was playing this game in holidays campsite with english and dutch friends on the french west coast :)

The music still do the trick, and the hit combos are pure killers :)

And don't forget that there are some ROM hacks for Rock'n'Roll Racing adding the tracks from the MD version to the SNES version and many other for the MD:

I just discovered this game recently when I decided to dust off my PSP and checked the ROMS I had for the Genesis emulator. What a great find that game is. :)

That's funny. I always thought that the game was very well-known but I have often seen it listed among under-rated games/hidden gems.
For example:

Probably eclipsed by Mario Kart, which I never really understood (RNRR is, along the Supercars series among my favourite racing games).

In the SNES version you can do some sharp turns if you use L/R while steering!

You might want to follow the development of this fan "remake" (I'll probably post about it once something is released anyway):

Heroes of might and magic III, still the best game in the whole world for me !

version 3.5 (WoG), of course playing only random maps, each game is really different.

gimbal 17 July 2013 13:48

yeah, HOMM 3 is truly the best one. But jebus a single game can take a long time... I once attempted a multiplayer session - that's an act of patience!

No wonder, since the developer has proven himself to be pretty evil.

Moonstone and Dragon's Breath

Space Quest 3 ... again :D

Luv this game! :)

gimbal 19 July 2013 07:53

"You pick up the ladder and jam it down your pockets."

"OUCH!"

Its a great game, but eventually you can play it with your eyes closed :)

dJOS 19 July 2013 15:00

Yes but it's still awesome! :)

Btw I've been playing the SpaceVenture demo they released the other day, it's pretty raw still but it's gonna be great to get a modern Sierra style adventure game again!!! :)

gimbal 20 July 2013 18:18

There is also the recent Larry remake. I find the price a bit steep being someone that can complete it from memory, but it looks great. The reviews on it are a bit on the negative side, but I rank that up to it being a game type from a different century.

Bioshock Infinite. Amazing graphics and sounds. However, I'm stuck on the last level. On attempt 50 so far. That "bird" is great for mass destruction but there's a "cooldown" period before it can be reused. In the meantime, the action is fairly frantic trying to refrain the advancing enemies from destroying the core. Once that's knackered, you have to restart the level from the start. Ngh!

Grid. I WAS going along nicely until I got stuck on the above game. So Grid is currently great for letting out the frustrating by either a) playing the DD parts, or b) driving the wrong way and causing multiple pile-ups. :)
