Thanks again ;-)

DamienD 19 November 2020 12:57

The real question is; what in this collection (or any other being imaged) is actually new, and not just duplicates / already in TOSEC?

Has anyone run everything through the latest TOSEC DATs to find out / identify?

yeah who knows, i saw lots of things which are not in tosec, but a simple "thank you" should be enough.

Why exactly do I need to thank you?

I haven't downloaded; and am not interested in this collection...

I'm just pointing out the obvious i.e, there's no point imaging loads of disks when 98% is already in TOSEC... but if you do the process then they should be run against TOSEC so only new / unidentified stuff gets uploaded.

Code:

Source-Files:          1000

- now even counting files in archives -

Analyzed Files:        1000
Created Files:          229
Matched Files:          230
Skipped Files:          771

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Non TOSEC files in "DUTCH COLLECTION PART 04" attached ;)

seems somebody matched some of them them against the tosec dats

DamienD 19 November 2020 17:54

Yes, I did donkeys ago just to see.

771 doesn't mean all new stuff, it could be a known disk that is slightly modified i.e. a highscore entry or a number of other stuff...

DamienD 19 November 2020 18:48

Ok, so I've now scanned all 13 x extracted archives using this; which took about 16 minutes to complete.

Out of 11,296 files, 7,135 were skipped i.e. not known by TOSEC. Seems unusual and extremely high...

Having a quick looking at the files though; to me these seem to be loads of [a] versions; which can happen for a great number of reasons.

Asle 19 November 2020 21:59

Here you come again ! there's no stopping you both !

never downloaded but put a test on all 13 unpacked releases ???

whatever, many other people are happy with the many scene releases that came out of all the packs....BTW Jab Jum came out of it to....so any unreleased disk is another known disk, and i think this collection has contributed enough unknow scene releases, so i don't know what you're point is in this thread if you are not interested in the collection
