Shell startup packet support (yet another strange AOS semi-undocumented stuff..), fixes WB1.x BCPL C:Run and C:Execute, solves also other shell related problems. Original write-protected WB1.3 disk finally boots 100% to Workbook. (Jason)

Picasso IV boot ROM issues solved (use PicassoIV.card and CirrusGD5446.chip), RTG crash/memory corruption problem if board support multiple RGB formats with same depth fixed. (I knew PicassoII was too old and basic..)

@Toni:

The "Locale" prefs settings crashes when I press "Save" or "cancel".

Also, AwnPipe doesn't yet seem to work under aros 68k.

HippoPlayer also crashes.

What works: Narrator.device (with Say command) WORKS beautifully !!

@Toni:

Does "Project Icon" work in aros ?

Launching a Whdload game by command-line is OK!
But when I click on the icon of the game, it does nothing.

Plus, AminetRadio has some problems, although the audio stream plays just FINE.

icon.library is quote deficient in AROS right now. I'm working a pile of fixes for it this week - expect much better icon support by mid October.

Thanks for your work on Aros 68k, Jason !

Can you also see the hippoplayer and aminetradio crash problem ? (See screenshots above)

I'll investigate that after finishing icon.library.

Could you PM me with URLs to the *specific* binaries that crashed for you?

amiga_user 30 September 2011 16:28

Another issue:

when I open .guide files with Multiview, Aros reboots.

Ezrec 30 September 2011 20:00

Thanks for the bug reports! I'll get to them as soon as I'm done with the icon.library rework.

Another program that has problems:

EaglePlayer (http://bax.comlab.uni-rostock.de/~bj....html#download )

See screenshot:

Please include serial logging (-serlog in WinUAE). It is especially important to see the message if crash causes reboot.

I tried this: winuae -serlog -f aros.uae but no text file is generated !
Am I doing something wrong ?
Or maybe, should I enable serial ports in winuae settings? If so, my PC doesn't have serial ports, so winuae can't find them.

Toni Wilen 30 September 2011 21:38

Either use both -serlog -log to open log window (also writes to a file automatically) or tick logging checkbox in misc panel if you don't want to see the log window.

Here's the log files while testing eagleplayer, hippoplayer, aminetradio and the locale prefs:

Toni Wilen 01 October 2011 12:34

Did you forgot -serlog? There is no aros serial logging, only normal UAE logging.

Here's the new logs:

- log1 (aminetradio, hippoplayer, locale prefs crashing)
- log2 (eagleplayer (halting the system) and multiview (rebooting))

Notifyloop detected!
Quite common zune compatibility notifications, usually won't cause any problems but you never know..

Unaligned CopyMemQuick(13747a86,1354d074,2b10)!.
This most likely causes the memory corruption crash.

I didn't find any bad CopyMemQuick()'s in AROS sources which means
1) Some native AOS code is buggy
2) (or more likely) Some AROS function returns non-LONG alignmed memory in some structure that should be LONG aligned

0x2b10 = 11024 (Audio buffer size? Very close to 44100/4 = 11025)

Another issue for you guys: :)

AudioMaster causes aros to reboot when I click the 'Ok' button.

Please note that I'm running Aros with NO rtg, because with RTG activated, buttons can't be clicked when switching to native screen !

Also RexxMast (AOS 68k version) makes Aros reboot.

here we go again:

Octamed sound studio makes aros reboot.

As per screenshot, DPaint won't do nothing when I click 'Use' !

Also, the file requester shows no volume names (screenshot).

Toni Wilen 03 October 2011 10:18

DPaint worked for me some weeks ago. AudioMaster probably uses second screen to show stupid text at the bottom of screen (which isn't supported yet)

What is that file requester? What program?

ANY file requester ! Try to show volumes in multiview file requester or ANY other program.
