Did not help.
I only get gray screen with frozen amiga mouse pointer.
Is recent powerpc.lib required? I did not updated for quite some time.

I suppose it's possible, I'm running 335 on the machine I tested this with the Sonnet. You could try newmode or modepro to see what screenmode it's trying to open, but it should just be 640x400. Should not be required but you could also try setting setenv env:SDL_ALTIVEC_BLIT_FEATURES=0. Are you running 16-bit workbench?

amigoun 14 May 2018 03:43

Ok, will check later. And yes, 16bit WB in 640x400.

Hedeon 14 May 2018 14:19

If something does not work, and you don't have latest version. First upgrade, then check again. If it still doesn't work., then post.

That being said. A lot of stuff hasn't been tested on Radeon in a while.

amigoun 14 May 2018 14:36

I updated to latest pci and powerpc libs but still the same issue.
Maybe a Radeon issue.

Hedeon 14 May 2018 14:42

Ok, I'll have a look later today.

Edit: was bug in LE modes on non-altivec PPCs. Should be fixed. Sent the fix to Greg.

spudje 15 May 2018 10:26

Hehehe, where does that question all of a sudden come from :) Thanks for the interest.

I sold the Sonnet around half a year ago, so no more stress here getting that to work :) My CSPPC/Mediator setup is on pause. Hope to continue that soon and have a stable enough setup for that, so I can finally clean up my retro room :) No clue if the mediator library 13.5 would add some value for my setup.

I lost interest in these more advanced PPC cards. I love all your dedication and follow it from the side, but for me as a mere end-user I concluded it doesn't offer anything extra apart from frustration. Basically the games you can run on the Amiga with these cards are not Amiga exclusive and are so much less fuss to run on a PC.

Hedeon 15 May 2018 10:40

To each their own, Spudje. :-)

However, I do think it is more a question of how healthy your Amiga is (caps/psu etc) then it is the Sonnet.

nexus 15 May 2018 11:32

yeah not the best idea to stick a super charger on a old engine with 500k miles on it lol
overhaul is a must in that case
saves a lot of issues/headache/frustration down the road

grelbfarlk 15 May 2018 13:19

Anyway new version uploaded to the Zone, should be fixed for G3 and lower-thanks to Hedeon as always. Let me know if it works.

And I'm doing fine. No one popping in to ask?

Now it works. :spin Great work all involved. Started in fullscreen mode without problems.
I still have to figure, why it does not list directory/files when I select add game. I only see ScummVM: as drive and nothing more.

Hedeon 15 May 2018 17:04

Somehow it does not go beyond its own home dir. You can place all the games inside the scummvm: in separate dirs together with the exe. That works. It sees its own dir as root so to say. You can go up in dirs which reside in scummvm:

amigoun 15 May 2018 17:21

Strange, I see no dirs or files even inside the root dir, simply blank listing.

Yes that may very well be. Although I hoped the system was fine, as it was recapped and had a new PSU. But essentially I decided to let reason overrule emotion here :) Because, even when I would get it running in the end, after that it would probably just stand there and be turned on only very rarely. Which the A4000 still runs the risk of ending up like.

did you ever check the mediator? if you had all that done then thats where i would look next and since they used sockets for the cpld's i would re-seat them
moving and flexing the board could have some pins with weak connections
just dirt itself can work its way in between connections over time
i would even check solder joints on it since they arent made with the highest quality

but i say all the above assuming everything is set right in software and your sonnet is in 100% working condition

since the mediator has many connections eg zorro>mediator>mediator bridge etc its a must to make sure all those connections are super clean

then in the end your mediator could just be bad why i ask the above as you would want to make sure its ok and you dont need to RMA it

spudje 15 May 2018 21:55

As said, the Sonnet is already sold. The mediator has already been back to Elbox for a fix and returned. So I assume that thing also works fine.

nexus 15 May 2018 22:42

never assume that
companies dont usually fix your item they just toss it in a pile then just send you another without even testing
i have had to RMA a RMA many times with PC motherboards
lol sometimes they send you one that is worse than the one you sent back

nexus 15 May 2018 22:56

just fyi one of my mediators had the edge connector that goes into the zorro/daughter board on the a4k so bent i had to redo that whole thing

Sorry this is a little hacky. But open your scummvm.ini and you can edit

browser_lastpath=
To put whatever drive you would like in there-I think. After you add your games whether they are in that directory or not they should show up in your list.

Cego 15 May 2018 23:44

i've been abstinent from this project for a few weeks now and in fact i will be for a few weeks more as my A4000 is at my parents place.
But i was wondering if changes happened regarding AHI? 68k version was slowing down performance considerably.
Another thing i was wondering about is MPlayer. Fab did a very nice port for MorphOS. Would it be possible to port this to WarpOS?

The source is here: http://fabportnawak.free.fr/mplayer/src/

I know it uses MUI4, but maybe a CLI command would be suffiecient to begin with.
