A500 with 1mb of chip ram.

I would suggest that you then test all your builds on that environment (A500, 1MB chip/no fast/no slow) in WinUAE and only accept them if they actually work on that environment.

Mainly because it feels that there are some unknown differences between your UAE environment and those of others. This usually isn't a big deal, but apparently in this case it leads to some issues when testing (which may or may not have to do with amounts of memory or what kickstart version is being used).

Furthermore, developing & debugging on a machine that is bigger than the one that is your target can mean nasty surprises when you do test it on the target machine later and find you need more memory than available, or that performance is too low, etc.

Hope this can help :)

Doesn't work for me in a Amiga 500 1MB/2MB Chipram config. Tried most the compatible config, also with KS 1.3 and 3.1. Garbled graphics, freezed screen.

Only with ClassicWB it worked (A1200+2MB Chip+8MB Fastram, KS 3.1), but with many graphics error. Does it need some libraries or other stuff i didn't put on the bootable disk for plain disk testing?

Only system libraries

Which files exactly? From WB 1.3?

Just game files: audio, sfx, gfx, and .exe of course

Retro-Nerd 26 July 2017 15:39

So, no other files are needed? Only the ones you've provided in the Rygar.adf? Well tried that. Ok, this leads to nothing so far. Let's wait what other people find out.

Just another try: if you can, send me a uae config to test. No hurt

Retro-Nerd 26 July 2017 15:44

This solves nothing. You can do it on your own. Go to the Quickstart Tab and select a system, compatibility slider most left (best compatibility). Tick the "start in quickstart mode" option. Remove the tick, if you want to add specific other settings (like ram, kickstart)

sandruzzo 26 July 2017 15:51

Did it, and still work :guru

Retro-Nerd 26 July 2017 15:53

We need real Amiga 500 user (with 1MB chipram) anyway since it doesn't work properly on A1200 hardware (i dont' have an A500 with 1MB chip yet).

Amiga1992 26 July 2017 16:38

I will test this today on my 1MB A500. Will report later.

Toni Wilen 26 July 2017 16:53

It is not very scientific test if there is no bootable adf to guarantee identical setup. (Number of floppy drives, possible HD, random startup-sequence, whatever can cause side-effects)

sandruzzo 26 July 2017 16:56

Sorry, for my non so well skill about amiga os. Can someone help me with coding some kind of printf so maybe we can get comenthig?

Retro-Nerd 26 July 2017 17:07

1 Attachment(s)
Here are 2 bootable disk images, one with OFS/one with FFS bootblock.

Amiga1992 26 July 2017 17:12

3 Attachment(s)
Find attached a version of the disk that is self-booting. OFS.
Also a WinUAE configuration that runs it. A500 ECS with 1.5MB RAM
Plus a minidump of when it crashed.

sandruzzo 26 July 2017 17:14

I'll do my best to find these bugs

Retro-Nerd 26 July 2017 17:17

What a strange config. FullECS and 1 Chipram + 512KB fastram? Well it works for a second then it crashes as Akira said.
