Judge Dredd, another terrible movie tie-in game

Judge Dredd on the Amiga has finally been requested to be placed in the vault of shitness, I'm surprised It's taken this long considering how boring and empty the game is but finally youtuber "RayC" has picked this game.

Boring, long winded, empty and no fun whatsoever, just the game to be placed on the Shit Game Time section.

Anyone else misfortunate enough to land up with this game for a gift?! It's ok, you can admit it here, no judging will take place

Ugh, that is so much mediocrity layered in a pile that it becomes terrible. The idea of the slopes and the bike is novel. Looks like they spent so much time on that they didn't have time to create an actual game around it.

I don't think this was a movie tie-in as per title. That Stallone version came in 1995 - this was 1990. Just based on the comic book

Game is still pants though

Yes indeed.

So was the film if I remember correctly! (On the other hand, I thought the Karl Urban movie from 2012 was way better than expected.)

Haven't played this one before, and although the gameplay and execution are poor I actually see some innovation going on here: The way that the bike very nicely escalates the platforms, those large fat guy sprites, not all NPC is there just to kill you and solid framerate compared to many similar game ports of the era. Not by far the biggest stinker I've seen on Amiga.

The graphics suffer mostly of a drab palette, but all in all aren't half bad, and would have gone far with more variation and if the game itself was any better.

It's bad but entertaining though, very watchable. Pretty much the same as Demolition Man, 90's action schlock that pits a very interesting and detailed world and has terrible characters walking around in it.

It's worth watching for 'THE LAW!' alone.

I must give it a re-watch then, refresh my memory!

I do like Demolition Man - it's one of those films (like The Running Man) which seems more plausible every time I see it!

This is clearly a bad 8-bit game that was hastily converted to become an even-worse 16-bit game.

The interesting thing is that the credits show the coder as Steve Snake, who went on to become a coding wizard at Sega and then wrote the excellent Kega Fusion emulator.

He also did Double Dragon 3 that isn't bad. Don't know this game but had smooth 8 way by the looks of it. Just looks like some boring console game.

Want a BAAAD Stallone movie? Just watch "Cobra". Terrible clichés, horrible action scenes, horrible acting.

Judge Dredd movie is not that bad. A tad short I would say.

I like the villain in that one... It's bad, but also 80s action. For a horrible Stallone experience I recommend Oscar

You can say what you want about Cobra, it's still better than A Good Day to Die Hard. I pretty much rate all actions movies relative to that piece of fecal matter. It not being PG-13 forgives everything. If I recall correctly that was the first movie I saw where I guy ends up hanging from a meat hook. That scene alone made the movie for 8-yo me.

Oscar is a remake of a french play/movie starring Louis de Funes. How Stallone ended up remaking this is a mystery.

"Stop or my mother will shoot" is horrible as well. And the prison movie... The list goes on and on, but I still love Sly, and his recent performance in "Tulsa King" is a must see.

"the prison movie" ... Are you talking about Escape Plan? The sequels are terrible, but the first one is quite good.

Yep, it's especially painful if you know the original I need to watch Tulsa King.

@gimbal He's talking about Lock Up I think.

Yeah (sorry they change all titles in France, it's hard to remember the original ones). "Lock up" sucks full end 1980 Stallone turkey style. Escape Plan is good.

Ah. I remember Lock Up being quite boring, but Donald Sutherland as the evil warden was quite slithery.

Tango & Cash is also one of those "It's terrible but it's great" movies
