Fonts that look nice in Hires.
Well topaz is damn right ugly and I'm trying to find a nice looking alternative. I want to make my workbench screen look stunning but I still can't find suitable fonts. Aminet has a pretty good selection but they're either funky and illegible(my A600 is connected to a standard TVs set
) or ugly but you can at least differentiate between letters/symbols.Any suggestions? Links and/or screenshot appreciated. Cheers! |

What do you think of my fonts? (screenshot taken browsing with my A500)
The thick one (I modified a FuturaB font) is pretty readable on a TV. I haven't checked how clear the thin one is. I also created a Chicago font which is pretty clear on TV. |

That's a nice looking workbench screen you got there
But from where I'm looking it seems to be a proportional resolution. I was thinking of a non-laced format like the PAL High Res 720x280. Maybe the title was a bit misleading. But thanks for the contribution. Hopefully my miggy's screen will look somewhat similar to yours once I'll be finished with it

Yes, this is Hires Interlaced (NTSC). The thick font does look a little stretched when using non-interlaced, but the thin font looks OK. I've got some other fonts that are clear and good for non-interlaced, but what size/type are you looking for?
Maybe I can check all my fonts on a TV to see which are most readable. (unless you found fonts by now, in which case I won't bother) |

I think size 8 or 9 would be best.
Don't bother with checking just send the fonts to this address ppill>_the_wiggly_bit_here<tlen.pl and I'll see if they're what I'm looking for. There are a few hopefuls I've found on aminet but there might still be some worth trying out. Thanks for the help! |

I'm also looking for some decent HiRes non-laced fonts. I've got a load from aminet but I'm yet to look through them all. If I find some I like I'll post them here
