Amiga Re-casing
does anyone know how to put an amiga 1200 into an ATX case?
maybe not using the power supply, but re-mount the mainboard, change the keyboard frame for a ps/2 mouse port, extend the floppy drive via a cable. has anyone atempted this or does anyone have any useful info. the reason i ask is that i saw a picture of an amiga 1200 in a atx case in the latest issue of amigactive. |

You should look for info about this on the Aminet. I know there is info...
Some new Amiga towers, like the PowerTowers, have ATX PSUs and keyboard power on/off. |

I did it a while ago but i used a standard AT case, but it had to be a full tower, a simple 3 or 4 bay mid tower was not big enuff.
I tryed and failed. As for the connections if your confident enuff u can build your own with stuff availble from the likes of Maplin electronics. The keyboard adapter wasa different matter, I had problems getting hold of one so i never finished the project and dismantled it all again. But hey i am willing to do it again as your probably have already read. The most difficult adapter was for the Power supply u need an old Amiga power supply Square plug and a connector off a motherboard and a little piece of electronic hobbie veroboard. Luckly I had both in my posession being a horder and all. Any more probs post areply and ill try and find the P/S pinouts for you. Good luck! |
