Well, you probably want to get a 100% answer before plugging anything in..

But if you look at the card when it's plugged in to a zorro slot, how many clock port expansions can you fit if you plug them in so that they point towards the zorro slot?

then tell me how to plug the subway! I don't have any other clockport expansions...

Yesterday Jens Schönfeld (the developer) wrote at Amiga-news.de that there is NO Pin 1 on any Clockport. It starts from pin 19.
And attention Z4 boards have a wrong labeling at the Z4 clock ports which have killed already some clockport devices...

There actually is a pin 1 too, but it's not present on many A1200s.. :-) Only the last half of the pin grid is used.

Maybe that helps:

installation
Plug the card with the component side up in an empty Zorro-slot of an
A3000/A4000. In the A2000 the component side must face to the diskdrives.
clockport
This port lets you connect vaious expansions that have originally been designed
for the Amiga 1200.. This connector has evolved into a standard that individual
Computers has supported on many other Zorro cards. Adapted drivers for
products like Silversurfer, VarIO and Delfina will follow shortly. Please mind that
the orientation of the port is geared toward expansions by individual Computers,
because other modules might not fir mechanically, or only fit the wrong way
round. The Silversurfer for example only fits the right way round, but other
expansions will not fit correctly. If you start the computer with such an improperly
installed clockport module on Kickflash, the module and Kickflash might be
damaged. This is the case with all clockport expansions by RBM, and for example
the Melody1200. Please check back with the vendor of the clockport module to
find out if it can work on Kickflash. Damages caused by wrong installation are of
course not covered by the warranty. Should you have any doubts, either ask your
reseller or send a message to our support through our contact form on the
website www.ami.ga.
We recommend to keep the clockport free, because we’ll deliver the expansion
module for up to 1GB flash memory shortly.

A quite fireproof check can be done if you have a multimeter/ohmmeter.

According to the clockport pinout description (e.g. http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/haynie/a..._port-V1_3.txt ), pins 19 and 39 (at the opposite ends of the same row) are both connected to GND, while pins 20 and 40 are connected to VCC (+5V) and /RESET, respectively.

So if you check the two extreme pins of both rows on the Kickflash OS4 with an ohmmeter, you will find that they are directly connected - that is, short-circuited - in one row and isolated in the other row.
It is also true on any clockport device as well. Therefore it must be cabled so that the short-circuited extreme pins on the clockport header must be connected to the respective short-circuited extreme pins on the device.

Is it A, B, C, or D??? this is a clockport

Here is what the HELPFULL and GREAT guy Michael Boehmer (E3B) has written to me... Still waiting for Individual Computers...

Hi Leo,

> The subway rocks, but I was wondering if you know what is correct
> orientation for installing it on a kickflash to get faster speed...

If you have a multimeter (for measuring resistors) you can check on your
own. Take the KickFlash out of the computer, connect the SUBWAY to it and
check if Ground (take Zorro pins for that) is connected with the GND pins
of the SUBWAY (use USB connectors GND for checking).

Another check: AFAIK there is a small capacitor on the KickFlash next to
the clockport:

ooooooooooo CC
ooooooooooo CC

This means pin 1 of clockport should be right side next to the capacitor.

Better wait for Jens reply, and double check with multimeter.

Best regards, Michael
unfortunately, I don't have a multimeter or the experience to do that... anyone else?
