A1200 hardware instabilities
Well, I just ordered myself a brand new A1200, my old one had problems for years. Im just uncertain what to to with the old Amiga.
Its a (german PAL) A1200 from the time of 1993/1994, messed around with to fit a 3,5 Harddrive internally. It had at first a Blizzard 1230 IV installed.
Problem is that it often just crashed with GURU 80**004 or something (back in time I was a bit more fluent with those things and I know for certain any crash was related to memory-errors ). The funny thing is when it was unused it crashed VERY frequent the first half hour or so, then running pretty stable from there on. Well, I found out the Bliz 1230 was emitting a high pitched noise, which was even there if I taken the board out - slightly bending( and I mean slightly ) the board would alter the noise.
I always considered the turboboard the source of trouble, but I modified my System enough so it wont run without it( needs fastram ). I then bought a cheap Blizzard 1260 about 2 years ago, together with another stick of EDO-Ram. Well, instabilities dint go away.
Any ideas what would cause this and how to fix that ? I surely wont just stick my old 1200 into the Trashcan, I would rather doctor it to clinical death or send it to someone who could prolly fix it for themself.
