Red face How to jump in Super Wonderboy in Monsterland

Stupid little question which I am too lazy about to figure out: When I walk to the far right in the first level of Super Wonderboy in Monsterland, how do I jump to that high platform? Pushing the joystick 'up' isn't enough.
Thanks in advance.

A blind shot here...

Have you tried to duck, then pushing up? Works in some games :P

Arrow I must enter a shop

Hmm, I have tried that already.
Amigaboy sent me a PM with a possible solution: I have to visit a little shop to buy some jump-boots. Problem is, I cannot enter the shop whatever key I press.

Unbelievable that I cannot get up the first platform of the first level of a game which I have finished on the C64 eons ago.

ack!
No no. You misunderstood Tim

The first door you see, you need to go into. You simply talk to the person in there and a platform appears when you come out. That platform is what takes you up.

There's no need to buy boots on the first level

I just verified. The button to press in front of the door is SPACE BAR.
I knew I was right

Red face Aha

Okay, enter the shop (by pressing "space"), talk, jump on platform and that's it. Thanks, it will definitely work.
Lets hope the game is as good as on the C64.

btw, jumping upwards when stood at the door gives you bonus coins, Mario-style. Just in case you didn't know this.

I only had 1 Oh message in the areas I've reached.

And boots might help you reach higher places, if only you had good boots at the start.

Roll eyes (sarcastic) Stuck in Pyramids-level

I am stuck again at Super Wonderboy - How does it come I ever finished this game on the C64?

Further in the game Wonderboy enters the 'Pyramids' level. On the far left is a little shop, on the far right a badly drawn pyramid. The only exit in this level is the pyramid but an entrance-key is needed. My big question: Where can I find the key?
Thank you.

Very simple
When you reach the desert (ie. Passed the shop), kill the little dudes along the way because they're friggin annoying (not necessary, but I recommend it if you don't have a shield).
Keep on walking and somewhere in the middle, you'll fall into a hole (this hole isn't visible. It looks like ground). In this hole, you'll come across 4 birds. 1 of these birds has the key, so start killing.
Once you find the key, jump up the 4 platforms to get out of there. From that point, run to the pyramid, and onto the next level you go

Eek Hidden depths

There is a hole hidden in the ground?! No wonder I did not have a clue. Thanks, I will try it out, Amigaboy.

Cool

as you seem to be getting stuck on this bit you might want a little advice on the next level

make sure that you exit the first screen at the top

the guardian on this level in near impossible to kill and the only other way of getting past him is to answer the question correclty (well i think so... the only way i was able to kill it was on the c64 version was to become immortal when i entered the secret door on top on the houses on round three or four not there on the arcade or amiga version sadly.....)

to get the answers you need to go to the barman in the pyramid who gives you clues on what the answer is.

I used to love this game arr the memories.....

The arcade and Master System version does have questions. If you answer then wrongly, you have to face the boss.

It was DAMN hard, but not impossible.

If I remember correctly, in the Master System version, he would ask what was his favourite game, and the right answer was Afterburner ...

hit space and a secret door appears
Does it also happen in the master system version? What's the substitude of the space bar? I didn't play this game much but like Wonderboy 5 (4?, not the one with a wonder-girl, also released as the last master system game ever) on Mega Drive that plays like this one and I LOVE Wonderboy 3 on master system, it's just perfect.
