Understanding Game ADF filenames
I have an interest in Amiga games, and I've come across a collection of 20,000 or so games that are named like these examples here:
Quote:
I can only assume that the first thing is the game title, the year of release in brackets, the publisher in brackets, and so forth. But what does [cr ?] in square brackets mean? Cracked, so the copy protection is removed? Who are PRD? Who are Black Monks? Is one group better than the other? Lastly, what does [t +1] mean? I have no idea about that at all. This collection I've got has about, on average, half-a-dozen variations of each game, so I can imagine once I've sorted through them all I'll only end up with something like 4000 games. Why complicate it like this? I also have a collection of C64 games, but they're all zipped, meaning two double-clicks every time I want to play one in C64 Forever! Lunacy! |
