Roadkill / Zyconix WHDload Sound/GFX problems
I tried to run Roadkill AGA WHDload yesterday and the sound is distorted. This also happens with the CD32-version. I've also got the normal install of Roadkill which doesn't have this problem. Sadly though, I have to run this version with 'boot with no startup-sequence' and execute a script to run it.
I also started Zyconix WHDload. This time the sound and the GFX is distorted. Does anybody have the same problems with these 2 games? |

In WinUAE or a real Amiga?
What's your config?

Sorry, I forgot to mention. On my real A1200. Can it be my turbo board? (MX1230). Other whdload-games work fine. I also have the tooltypes 'noautovec' and 'nomemreverse' activated. These 2 tooltypes fixed most of my problems with whdload-games.

Hmm, could be yeah.
I've got a blizzard 1230IV and definitely don't have any probs with Roadkill, although I don't have any of your specific tooltypes set. Have you tried removing the tooltypes?

MX1230 sucks
I had one and had lots of trouble with games. Got a Phase 5 060 board instead and it worked a lot better.(I'm not trying to find apologies for the guy who wrote the Roadkill install )Try nocache too.

I agree the MX1230 sucks. It's very unstable. I didn't notice this back in the 90's when I got it. It was stable with my rev1b motherboard and kickstart 3.0
But then I got some problems with some whdload-games. With my rev2b (escom) motherboard it's even worse (heating problem). I've also got a GVP 030 board. I'll try that one with my rev1b motherboard (as this board crashes immediately with rev2B) and these games. Let's see what it does. I see you (JOTD) wrote the install Do you have any explanation why the normal install works without problems?

Well I dunno, but if it works under DOS there's some hope with whdload
![]() I guess different cache settings, different memory locations, and a virtual system where the 1230XA fixes are not active ?? I'd try nomemreverse (alloc memory in the normal order), nommu, nocache.
