Five a Side Soccer do not work from HD

Hello.

Does anyone know how to run "Five a Side Soccer" by Croteam from HardDisk
under WinUAE? Install script do not work properly so I copied all files from disk
one and disk two and make assigns and run Loader in startup-sequence after
assigns to Indoor1: and Indoor2: but game shows guru. I switch off Jit and set
a Full ECS chipset but this do not help. This game is poor but I want to test it.
I got adfs from planetemu. In Footbal Glory by the same company game wotk
only from hdf disk file, not from harddisk mounted as directory so I created an
empty hdf, format it and copy all files to hdf but game still shows guru at start.
Is it posiible to run it from HardDisk? Anyone can check this under WinUAE
or under real Amiga? Thanks in advice and sorry for my bad English G.N.

Hi olesio,

made a 'quick and dirty' fix of the HD installer Copy the attached file in the zip to the first disk and run the installer. Remove the disks and start the game from HD. Tested it here and it run fine with a plain WB 3.1 install.
Hope it works for you.
Attached Files
File Type: zip hdinstall.zip (1.1 KB, 70 views)

Thank you, I copied the fixed installer on disk one and run it, but I got error affter
copied first disk. So I manually copied second disk to hard disk directory and now
game works from HD. But I still do not know why other version show guru, when I
compared files under Total Commander - only your HDinstaller script is different.

I don't know. The disks I used were :

Five-A-Side Soccer (1998)(Croteam)(Disk 1 of 2).adf (CRC32 : 05D57055)
Five-A-Side Soccer (1998)(Croteam)(Disk 2 of 2).adf (CRC32 : 521DF686)

The install script changes some filenames, so maybe that is the reason why it gave you a Guru when you just copied it over.
Anyway good to hear it now works for you.

I got second disk the same, but first have different CRC32 becasue I copied manually a HDInstall
file using Total Commander and AmigaDX plugin. Other first disks on net have [v Saddam] info.
Only planetemu do not have it and strange is the game works from harddisk mounted as
directory but do not work from hdf diskimage. When runing from hdf guru error appear.

EDIT: reported this as bug in prb.WinUAE. Btw TCD: can you upload your adf of this game to "The Zone"?

Hey TCD. Can you please upload your preinstalled game? I've seen that TOSEC lists a "Saddam 1" virus for both Disk 1.

That will indeed be interesting. It has a special 'Game is working under UAE Amiga emulator' screen, so it might only work there.

Well it comes from a NTFS file system anyway (folder as Amiga HD) If you want I can pack it again with WinZip just to make sure that's not the problem.

Yes please. I'm not sure which of files need the executable flag, besides the loader and some others. Strange that i get this "Insert Disk 1" message.

Okay, zip is in the zone. *Edit* My fault
Btw : There is still 7zUI.lha in the zone. Maybe that's worth a try too.

I'm using KS 3.1, 2 MB Chip, 8 MB Fast, AGA with a plain WB 3.1 install. There is a libs folder inside the game folder. Have you copied the 'CrM.library' to your systems libs folder?

Seems like it's really a UAE only version... Maybe someone else can test it too.

I've written the game back to real Amiga disks. It works flawless as it seems. So i guess we need a WHDLoad patch. Stingray?

Thanks to Psygore we have a WHDLoad patch now. The installed game works fine in WinUAE (TOSEC disk images), but crashes on my real Amiga with a "Line 1111" error. Has anybody another game version?
