Happy Powerdrome Remake for PS2 and Xbox

http://gameinfowire.com/news.asp?nid=2293

This looks like an awesome remake of the Amiga classic. Hopefully the developers (Argonaut Software) will keep it as near to the Amiga version as possible. With the original programmer (Michael Powell) leading the project things look quite good for it.

I can't wait to see screenshots of the ultimate remake. Stunt Car Racer is in development for the PC. The main man, Geoff Crammond, is taking full charge of the project so it should be kick ass and faithful to the Amiga version! That is going to be one of the most anticipated games in years.

The developers are finally starting to realise that the best games were Amiga games.

Yes! I loved Powerdrome too, and I was very good at it. It took me a long time to fully get the grips with the game, the great secret is to get used with the "shield" system. If you put your shields at maximun you'll never crash at walls, but you will always go too slow. Lower your shield and you'll have no protection against walls, but will be able to fly at a blazing speed. If you used low shields in easy sections and high shield in harder sections, you would be fine.

I hope they keep the good gameplay in the sequel. That's another game that could use some real good 3D graphics.
