Cuba 1898

Well, Christmas is over and it's time to outline my new game ...
On this occasion I want to make a kind of green beret ... The title is not yet decided, I already have some sketches of characters and backgrounds ...

I mean that I make games in an editor does not mean that I do not have a great job behind, documentation, sketches, drawing, design, tests, configurations, etc ...
The editor is a tool that allows me to make games, it has certain limitations, but the alternative is not to make games or to discuss a lot with a programmer who sometimes does not know anything about game design ... because many of them make games nowadays They do not know how to design games, so they decide to make a tetris or a pacman ... to make a fun game you have to know how to design games and that is not done by anyone, this is what the guy who knows ...

I have realized that there is a lot of haters in the net ... people with minimal knowledge or without knowledge that make a destructive criticism of everything that the fans do, simply because they are not able to do anything ...

These opinions should not be taken into account since they do not contribute anything, they only destroy ...

Not everything is bad, I also want to recognize those people who support the projects, sometimes those projects are vaporware or they are a simple scam and they do not know it ... they just want to support ... thanks to these people. I hope not to fail you ...

Now the number of my games starts to be two figures and I feel that I need to do much more, so I will continue while I feel good with my work for this community, providing games, graphics and slideshows

When you are clear about what you can do and what you want to do, there is only one way, you have to follow it constantly and have your goal always clear.
Do not let the haters put you in the way or stop you ...
Many of my games have been designed for years and now they are simply materialized ...

You don't need to justify your choice of tools. Not everything needs to be done the hard way all the time.

I do not justify myself ... I only tell the reality because there are people who think that I am a company with 40 employees ...

Only constructive criticism of intelligent comments ...
I hope no one is offended as I do not get offended when they call trash and other nonsense to my games.:RE

At some point things have to change ...
What can not be is that I recive an email from a developer who does not show his creations for fear of certain types of characters ...
Everyone has the right to teach their work, whether or not it is liked by certain haters ...
If someone tells me that my games are trash or that they are an insult to commodore Amiga, it is destroying the scene and I as a creator will always find those people or goodies who say that haters have the right to scare creators. ..
Not one more hater ... and support the honest creators ... and I emphasize the honest ...

Forget what anyone else might say about your work. The way I look at all this; is that anyone who is still programming video games of any kind, on the Amiga, should deserve an award.

The Amiga needs as much new software creating for it as possible. Your type of work continues to help this retro platform and I admire anyone who has the skill and patience, to do so.

In the end, it is people like you that continue to show these haters and doubters, the trueness of not just Amiga but you as an individual, who is both passionate and great at programming software for Amiga.

Thanks ... That's the spirit Amiga needs ... I'm not saying that Amiga's future is to create games only with the backbone ... It's clear that the Amiga needs better editors to create games, demos and multimedia for those who They do not have a year to create a demo of 45 seconds or a game in 2 years ...

We need programmers who create creation tools, not an mp4 player to watch culonas videos or surf with Amiga ...

Am pretty tempted to christen this behavior "the Broken Amigan Syndrome" - for which everything that does not fit the golden years commercial software production is impure and has to be berated in all ways.

Might not be limited to amiga scene but darn if they are bothersome :/

Is the period of history specified somewhere? Spanish Civil War? And if so, do I get to choose sides? If not, which side would I have to be on?

EDIT: OK, I'm blind. It says "Cuba 1898" in the youtube title...

EDIT2: it looks great but it would look a tiny bit greater if the waves at the bottom of the screen had some nice copper animation. Often this is done by just changing the palette to blueish colours and having the line where the blueish colours start move up and down with some sinus. Perhap add some moving wave crests using sprites or whatever and you are done.

Hey jojo073,

I was browsing around and saw your post, I kinda see myself as one of those developers. I was thinking of porting some of my unfinished games to Amiga but after seeing some posts in some Amiga groups, I kinda started to rethink about that.

Nevertheless, It's good to see that there's still new stuff being released to Amiga.

Keep up the great work! it's looking good
