My head starts throbbing when I try to think about that one ... Perhaps in time I'll be able to give it some thought

Ok, I goofed, it is only flipped around the Z axis, and the front of the drives would still be facing you on an A1000...

Sorry guys, I'm giving up smoking and the brain is turning to jelly :eek

Thanks for the help.

I actually wasn't serious about putting the 500 board in the 1000 case. But maybe i'll have a shot since there is so much that can/will go wrong

I would probably prefer the 500 case anywho. I know someone who has one stuffed on a shelf collecting dust he may be willing to donate to me so maybe i'll try the ram in it (just have to raise the case off the ground a bit) or maybe i'll see if agnus will transfer?

Dunno....

Can someone confirm this please. I have an A1000 and just today picked up an A590 and would like to see it work without the fireworks

So is it upside down with the front facing forward?

or

right way up with the back facing forward, covering the joystick ports?

I posted the question on comp.sys.amiga.hardware and the responce I got was it has to go back to front. which means the space between the A590 and the joystick port will be too tight for a joystick.
