Why arenīt there Amiga Remixes?

The web is full of C64 remixes like the ones at remix.kwed.org - but why the hell arenīt there Amiga-Soundtracks getting remixed (beside commercial CDs like immortal etc.)?

I ever thought the Amiga was THE Sound-Machine out there?

Oh, how would an Ambermoon-remix be fine *sniff*...

Hoi! Nice links!

Oh, I donīt want the originals any better or changed at all, only in true 44khz

Especially at Ambermoon you really hear the missing 22khz

(But an orchester or E-Guitars wouldnīt be bad of course...)

I've been covering amiga music, professionally since I was 16 (over 10 years now - my dad is a musician), I've enjoyed computer music since the days of SID on c64. (Cubase - Roland SC-88Pro Module/Roland XP-80 Synth)

Some things I've done:
monkey island
hardwired
flashback
pinball dreams
elekfunk (arte)
living insanity (arte)
oddyssey
dune
alien breed

I've recently uploaded hardwired, but it seems the account is deleted. I will send you a link when I've upload it again.

Quality stuff, up there, with Back In Time.

I'm thinking of making a CD(s) similar to BIT. Earn some money selling them, via an online company. But I don't know how it works.

Ps. I'll notify you when the map of exile is done too... 1/3rd done (looks great, buts its a pain to do). There's another possible re-incarnation of exile on the horizon as well.

Oh, don't tell me that you haven't heard any of Chris H's work.

I find most ofthose remixes to be awful. Never liked any of Chris Abbott's remixes, only the ones by Instant Remedy, Putzi, and a few others.

Hooooo Because

The tunes on the C64 were far and away more melodic and better than any AMiga tune I heard

{currently awaiting comments]!!

Well, it's just different (melodic is nice indeed). Sid has an unique sound though

Check out these sids (my favs):
http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtop...ghlight=#51059

Some of them sound better on Amiga. (x-out/supremacy/rocknroll/strider etc)

I have gathered my own collection of amiga game/demo mods/tunes over the years. Some stuff is just brilliant.

Damn, I need to make a site so bad, there's so much in my head that I need to share. Not just music/games.

Update:
Hey check out SLAY Radio @ http://hvsids.c64.org !!!

Personally, I'd like to hear a remake of the tune from the first 'Alternate Reality' (Was that the City or the dungeon?). Anyway, I loved it on my old 800XL Pokey chip.

Somebody update the Cannon Fodder inter-level music. It's great. I want it. Or else I'll scream and scream.

*Kicks MP3 player for not wanting to play MP3*

Which codec were you using for that? My player didn't want to play it, but WIMPlayer had no problems with it at all.

I still prefer the original, but your version is still very good. I think the thing that 'bugs' me about your version is the speed, and some of the 'Babylon 5' sounding instruments, other than that, its still very faithful.

Wouldn't mind hearing you do some justice and extending the Cream of the Earth module by Romeo Knight for Cebit 90, RSI.

That would be cool to hear updated and extended.

I know, the original had it's own sounds/samples (arpreggio/different pitches in snares etc). I had to replace them with instrumental samples, drums (toms), ethnic instruments and such. I just wanted to do this song. I have a lower-speed version as well, including the temp shift near the beginning, though it's the same song. I felt like upping the speed a bit.

When trying to recreate a song I try to be as faithfull to the original as I can. Although, minor changes are done with this one (most noticeable, the choir).

I don't know that song, perhaps you can upload. I doubt doing a conversion though. I have other priorities (time is precious). Still curious.

Check out this sid, 1986 (striking resemblance):

Nice version DeAdLy_cOoKiE, still prefer the original though but yours is great, its on my playlist.
I use to love doing all that kinda stuff way back just by using soundstudio/octamed, remix the hell out of old classics like zool/anotherworld/Team17 stuff and some scene demos, great fun but sadly i have misplaced most of em and they prolly show there age by now.

Look forward to seeing what else you can come up with

DeAdLy_cOoKiE - if you want any suggestions for Amiga tunes to remix, there are some that I think could be done:

- Onslaught hi-score/game over.
- Rock 'n' Roll hi-score
- Invaders 2 hi-score
- Dragonflight intro

A crap game but i have to say that the in game song is prolly my favourite tune on Amiga, a true classic that many may have overlooked.
