Interaction of signals and noixemul

I'm still working on ADoom for gcc. Right now I'm trying to figure out why it won't exit properly with the -noixemul build.
I have a hunch it might have something to do with how Ctrl+C is handled.

ADoom starts a second task, 'ADoom_fliptask' which does , well, flip the doubled buffered screen once the blitter is finished doing its part of the C2P conversion. The main process and the fliptask use SIGBREAKF_CTRL_C and SIGBREAKF_CTRL_F to comunicate with each other.

In particular, at the end of the program, the main task will signal SIGBREAKF_CTRL_C to the fliptask. The fliptask will shutdown and signal SIGBREAKF_CTRL_F back to the main process to acknowledge when its done.

Is there anything behind the scenes going on in noixemul that interferes with this signaling scheme?
