[Factory]3d polygon techniques
After numerous posts lamenting the lack of texture mapping on the Amiga chipset, I think it's time to start a thread about what the Amiga can do instead of texture mapping. To put some boundaries on the discussion, let's keep the stuff about stock configuration elsewhere. This is going to be about accelerator equipped Amigas using the chipset.
Stencil Mapping The famous Walls demo implemented a map projection technique using dithered depth shading but plotting a 2d vector image in 3d space allows a reasonable substitute for texture mapping. Limits of the Chipset Fill mode and line draw mode together take too much blitter time. Is there code in existence that draws boundary bits? |
