@Hedeon: Yes.
DisL2Cache = 1 -> all works fine DisL2Cache = 0 -> storage access exception This is in Q3. All other progs I've tried are fine with DisL2Cache =0 |

Just for a laugh I copied Q3 over to a 330MHz BPPC system with Voodoo 3. It works about half the time (the other half throw WarpOS exceptions) but only runs at about 5 fps tops! Pretty close to getting the beers in between frames, Cowcat!
PS this system has 192Mb in it which is the absolute min. Less than 20 megs free when it's running. Last edited by Wrangler; 15 December 2017 at 20:39. Reason: Added memory comment |

I think 603e is the problem, it is quite weak comparing to 604e and G3. Anyway I will test the game on BPPC with Voodoo4 as well.

Also while Cowcat's compiler is still hot, he could turn on Altivec which in theory Hedeon added library support for. |

If you tell me what CPU should I look for (type, model, pins, socket) I know few people who can professionally change it.

I don't want to say it will most definitely work without any additional changes, I know of at least one signal difference on G4 boards which we would assume needed to be flipped. What I'm saying is that I wouldn't recommend it unless someone doing the procedure was able and willing to do some additional troubleshooting in event of problems. I have a good piece of doc that shows the signal differences between 750, 7400 and 7410 if someone is interested in looking at it.

If it were as simple as dropping in a 740 in place of a 603e on BPPC card, wouldn't Phase 5 have done that?

Maybe those weren't available in that moment.
New one. If it works it's way way better than Star Wars 8. Last edited by Cowcat; 03 September 2018 at 14:04. |

Changed a little bit some stuff here & there: For example, when parts are wrote as inlined functions, vbcc doesn't do that normally but in higher optimization levels. As a result lots of static functions are kept in every object file at the time of final link, even if they aren't needed by the object files. |
