Gotek Floppy Emulator support in WINUAE

Hi.

Just had a thought. Is it possible to emulate the gotek floppy emulator within WINUAE?

Dont know if its a bad or good idea, just throwing it out to see if possible?

It must be possible but I'm not sure why. The purpose of the GoTek is to have many adf files available on the usb to load, that's kind of accomplished with storing adfs in a folder and using the eject/load buttons in emulation. If anything, maybe a modification to cortex or HxC for emulation only so that they point to a local directory for the adfs instead of a virtual usb stick?

What would a virtual GoTek accomplish? Perhaps you have an idea that isn't obvious to me?

Personally I think it's a silly idea... I mean, what's the purpose and as Sinphaltimus already said, you can load .ADFs in WinUAE???

Am I missing something obvious with this request?

Use the "Disk Swapper" if you want similar functionality...

Basically replicating a real setup with 999 adfs. And to be able to select whichever game via a slot number that can be changed within winuae gui.

One can create a gotek system without real hardware.

The only things I can think of is if a person wants to setup all their slots on the usb drive using a PC instead of a real Amiga? You can use this utility to accomplish that. (allegedly - I haven't tried)

Isn't it better to make UAE specific menu system that changes floppies like uae-configuration does and uses directory filesystem to find ADF files?

Much more flexible. Of course there is not that much point but thats normal

Well, you could run selektor from workbench on a real Amiga.
