Back in the game!

I've been given what looks like to be quite a turbocharged A1200. It belonged to a friend of ours who is moving back to Hong Kong. Itís been sat in its box for the last few but looks to be fully working so far. I think the clock battery may be getting low It seems to be a few years out. I donít really want to take it apart just yet to change it out.

Thereís a DVI port so it plugs straight into my monitor and a PCMCIA CF card reader which I assume is acting as one or both of the hard drives. I guess I'll have to pick up a gamepad from somehwere. The sega ones work if I remember rightly.

Itís been such a long time since Iíve played with an Amiga not really sure where to start but Iím quite excited.

If you have a computer with rtc from the nineties that you care about you really need to check the status of the battery..
Much better to desolder a battery than to have to repair traces on the motherboard.

It's a A1200 so doesn't have a battery on the motherboard. The RTC and battery will be on a memory expansion or accelerator, luckily these don't tend to leak.
If its been stood for any length of time though it will need the capacitors checking for any leakage.
