I have been playing the ADF version and have the following comments/questions:

- You have to press fire button to access main menu once Blocky Skies image appears
- I suggest you play the in-game tutorial to learn how the game works (but you have limited lives even in the tutorial!)
- Super League moderators: I assume we start playing from level 0001? In which case players must reset level to 0001 on main menu after each 'Game Over'
- There is no (!) name entry on highscore table, but you can clearly see the new score (highlighted in different colour compared to previous scores)
- This is sadly a game of memory (and a little luck) rather than skill, and in my opinion not much fun. However, I do love the graphical style.

Score: 25,970

Edit: Just for the curious, I made it to level 6.

After the Moo-level it gets easier again, but in the ninth level the game stops being fun.

Unfortunately the game crashes when I click on "quit".
Does anyone else have this problem? Doing so it doesn't save my scores... if you have any hint please let me know.

My config is CW 3.9 with Blizzard 1260/66.

Hi

I am the author of Blocky Skies.

I could look into the reason for the game crashing when you hit quit, but unfortunately it doesn't save high scores even when it does exit correctly :-(

This is the first report I have had of it crashing, so there must be something about your config that it doesn't handle correctly. I'd like to get to the bottom of it so that the same bug doesn't flow into new games I am working on.

Feel free to PM me if you're interested in helping me fix the crash.

I'm also running on a Blizzard 1260/66 and experienced no problems at all. I am on 3.0 though and not 3.9 but never had an issue here.

I reviewed this game for Amiga Future last year and was very impressed. It's great to pick up for ten minutes here and there.

Thanks for the report and the review. I have a copy the review on my wall to motivate me to write my next game :-)

Awesome! Very much looking forward to your next game

If you get time I'd love to see you have a go at this and post a score for the competition, it's always a good incentive for everyone else to beat the author at his own game

Haha yeah - I did complete the game to make sure it was possible, but I found it very hard to finish the last two levels.

For those that don't know there is a secret level that you can unlock on the menu screen by doing 7 "joystick lefts" followed by 3 "joystick rights".

What a great game!

I played with Amiga 500 / ACA500+ / OS3.1 and HD-installed version crashed on quit. After that HD started validating, but luckily there was no checksum error. Next time I just reseted Amiga instead of trying again games quit-option.

OK that's very interesting. Can you give me some details on your setup ? Anything that might be different from a standard OS3.1 install ?
