Crash on selecting a disk

It worked for a bit, now it's not. I have Win10, and installed WinUAE 3.4.0 64-bit. When I go to Floppy Drive section to pick a disk and press the three-dot button to bring up the file selection screen, the screen appears and then the program comes up with "WinUAE has stopped working". I have an older version of WinUAE, 2.3.1, which has no troubles that way. Any ideas?

Yep. That was it. And, specifically, my Avast Anti-virus.

Now I get to see if I can find a fix for that. Still, thanks.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I ask because I had the same issue......for me in manifested after I uninstalled WinUAE and reinstalled it in a different location (I originally installed it as c:\Program Files\WinUAE so I uninstalled it to put it in c:\WinUAE).

After I did that it would crash ever time I accessed a file select dialog box. I searched and found this thread and used the shell extension view program to disable the Avast extensions and it worked! But I don't think I should leave components of my otherwise perfectly functioning antivirus system disabled....especially since this is the only application it causes an issue in.

Any suggestions?

You can talk about that with Avast in their forum. Also Avast shell extension is not important, Avast antivirus will work without that extension.

I am tempted to just just that to see if I get anywhere but I am pretty sure it will turn into them pointing me back here saying it is the fault of the program and I will just get a runaround and ultimately my time will have been wasted. Just a prediction....I'll let you know what happens.
