PCMCIA angle connector and SD to CF adaptor Amiga update

Quote:
Something different for today's update although it still revolves around the Amiga, is two important updates regarding specific hardware and drivers that makes life just that little bit easier for the Amiga community. The first one is Grzegorz Kraszewski's PCMCIA angle connector, or KA37 for short. Which is a 90 degree angle connector that makes it easier for mounting or connecting PCMCIA cards in Amiga towers. Developed through 5 PCB revisions and over 4 months, the developer has said it fits in tower designs, where there is no space between the case bottom and the Amiga mainboard and is both solid and durable.

Good stuff.

Confused me, the pic, because it shows an SD card plugged into the IDE controller.

The actual update is to the right angle adaptor, and also a software update for PCMCIA adaptors that have CF-SD adaptors in them. Apparently more complaint, accepts more cards from various places.

It might seem a little odd to do it that way, rather than go for straight SD-PCMCIA, but the Amiga's PCMCIA is rather old, any maybe it makes at least some sense to use the fairly dependable CF tech as a middle area, which is from roughly the same era.

SD-PCMCIA adapters are more complicated, more expensive and quite rare. They also tend to not support SDHC cards because of their age.

Is new compactflash.device available somewhere for download?
I don't use FB so I can't see discussion about it.
