Demo annoyingly locks up

I've had trouble with this demo before: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=194

I run it with my main A4000 configuration (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5...W5jUDBCSGJ0WTQ) and it always locks up when above the spaceship with the throbbing sound, although the music continues normally.

However, a few weeks ago I finally managed to get it working on an older version of WinUAE (3.3.0) and it played all the way through to the end. I think the config I used was the exact same one as above, but why it ran properly I don't know.

Please help.

demo seems running with 020+ cpu. so try 030/882 / fastest possible / JIT
if things seem stalled, try to move the CPU slider from right (fastest) to the left a bit (slower).
did help to solve a problem with caligari 3d app in the past, when emulation was stalled, but not crashed.

The config I used was A4000/040 Fastest, so why does it say 020?

if you start the demo from cli/shell, it prints some information, first checking cpu 020+

since the demo is running in 3.3.0 it is a winuae issue. i just gave some hints how to cope with the
new version of winuae. cannot say what causes the incompatibility with 3.4.0.

Working in older version means nothing. If it is demo that needs fast cpu: if it also has bugs if CPU is too fast: too bad, not my problem. Sorry.

EDIT: if you want some better answers, exact beta needed that was last working. I have very little interest for fast CPU demos that have timing bugs.

Got it working!

It's not a WinUAE issue, but an original Amiga hardware issue. Turns out the solution was in the readme file for the demo after all: it says that for slower drives, typing in "addbuffers (device) 200" in the Shell solves the problem entirely - I tried this and it worked! And if it worked for this, then it will work for others, too.

Well, all I can say is: when all else fails, RTFM!
