Misja Harolda

Has anybody played this 10-disk Polish game? The version I got also came with an lha file that is a crack fix. It has two files which you are supposed to replace disk files with. The first one says it goes on disk 0 and the second one on disk 1. Well I only found disks 1-10, so there was no disk 0 (the disknames are numbered). Well, I tried the game without patching the files on disk 1 and it crashed (naming that filename as the culprit) while loading the actual game (after the long intro thingie). So I replaced the file on disk 1 with the fixed file but the same thing happens again.

It seems there must be a disk 0 somewhere out there. Can anybody help here?

Thanks haynor. Nice to have someone from Poland on the board...we've been plugging a lot of the diverse Polish games into HOL over the last week or so, so it's nice to know there's someone here who understands that cryptic language. I can make out a few words, but the only one I really *know* is "gry"!

From a Polish web site!

Actually, there was a boatload of games there that I'd never heard of, but they were DMS files with cryptic 8+3 DOS names, so I had to be creative in selecting the games that I thought were oddities. I can't even remember what site right now, but I'm pretty sure I got everything unique there.

If you display all Polish games from HOL, you'll see a bunch of nice obscurities. And more are being added every day, since I am in my Polish games dir. Poor Walker has to do screens every day for games which he can't even understand the language for. I think he'll be glad to see the end of that folder reached!

Incidently, if you check the Last update page from the HOL front page, you can see the daily progress of new games added; it's a great way to see the progress of new additions to HOL. For example, Vabank is another nice title worth investigating.

Could you please post the URL of that Polish site?

As I said, I can't remember the site right now, but I will dig through my bookmarks (I'm pretty sure it was back when I was using Netscape), but I have about a trillion sites in that thing. If I can find it again, I'll post it here.

As some probably know, WHDLoad slave has been created for this game. However, either it has problems because it reports trap 0 exception when starting, or I have bad files.

Can someone please upload their working WHDLoad version of this game to the Zone, and specify the configuration?
