The WHD patch dates back to 2001 and is quite old now, so I wonder if the slave needs updating for WHD 18.x. Still, it's always worth trying additional tooltypes (e.g. NoCache may slow the game down to normal and also solve the graphical glitches).

I wouldn't call it emulation bug because you can do the same with custom built joystick. There is nothing in Amiga hardware that prevents joystick up and down and/or left and right activated simultaneously.

I am not going to add option that restricts button/key to joystick mapping only because there is one buggy game.

Just throwing something in the mix here (not wishing to cause any agro).

I played it in AF2016 (winUAE 3.2.2) A500 512/512 KS1.2 config and it never froze once.

Keyboard b layout.

Same config on WINUAE beta 16 not working here. press a few arrow keys quickly and it freezes.

I have played the game with usb joystick and never have any problems.

It works with 68020+ because crash is due to address error, accessing word or long word in odd address which is only supported by 68020 and later models.

I guess game logic (player position calculation) gets temporarily in invalid state or something like that.

Looks like ransom1122 has discovered another bug; on stage 2 you will hear a high-pitched sound every 10 seconds or so...

I've taken a look and this effects all "TRSI" cracked / trained versions

The "Flashtro" crack is fine though ...as is of course the .IPF

So, if you want to play this via disk with WinUAE then really your only options are to use either the "Flashtro" crack or the .IPF + cheatcode.

On a side note; the HOL cheatcode should be updated to something like:

- During play, type “VICKY” and press ‘RETURN’. You should now receive the following: 
  
     ... 99 lives
     ... 99 grenades
     ... Unlimited energy
     ... All weapons
     ... Keep the last weapon used when you die
