Sorry missed that one (to busy listening to the CD32 startup )

Where do I need to put the unrar.dll. Windows/System32 or somewhere in WinUAE dir?

Did you wait long enough? CD32 only checks for CD once before boot screen and next check is few seconds after boot screen animation has finished.

Ok, I think I know what's going on...

Thank you Arnie for your PM

...so after following the process I've detailed, I was pressing "Reset" straight after adding in the image file. The key point is:

*** you need to wait a few seconds, the game will then boot without needing to reset ***

If you reset immediately after adding the image file like I have been doing it, will never be recognised.

Just saw you post after I had posted...

No, I was adding the image file and resetting afterwards immediately.

But did you wait until the animation ended? Switching CD when emulation is already active is delayed (emulates the delay of opening the door and changing the CD), it may not be inserted when CD32 does the first CD check.

No

...Sorry to have wasted yours and others' time. At least if someone else uses the same process as I did then they will know to wait at least 2-3 seconds.
