XBox One controller not working

Hi all,

So, I'm using a wire-connected XBox One controller. Windows (10 to be precise) detects it without any problems and so does WinUAE:
  • all the buttons seem to be properly assigned in "Game ports -> Remap / Test" window,
  • all the buttons seem to be properly assigned in "Input" window,
  • the controller is properly listed in "Game ports -> Port 1" and "Port 2" listings,
Unfortunately, when I'm trying to test input (be it "Game ports -> Remap / Test -> Test" or "Input -> Test" options) or just running a game, not a single input from my XBox One controller is detected.

I'm completely out of ideas on how to fix it. Could someone help me with it?

Hi there. I have the same problem. Strange, that before W10 Anniversary Update (1607) everything was working fine (official build and latest betas). Tried also -norawinput parameter, but without success.

-norawhid should work around it. It seems to be Windows bug with Xbox one controllers. (They report as being rawinput devices but no events ever arrive)

You would need to put this in either:

a) Your desktop shortcut for WinUAE e.g. "C:\WinUAE\WinUAE.exe -norawhid" (without quotes).
b) If running from a command prompt, change into the directory where WinUAE is setup and enter "WinUAE.exe -norawhid" (without quotes).

It looks like XBox One controllers work again in Insider Preview build 15019. Hopefully it does not get broken again before official "Redstone 2" release (March or so).
