Deluxe Paint V (AGA)

Hi,

I'm trying to get Deluxe Paint V to work in WinUAE. The standard modes seem to work but the AGA modes crash the computer.

I'm using the UAE Zorro II with 4MB RAM.

What are the required specs/settings for this program to work?

Thanks!

Yes, it should be. I believe I installed Picasso 96. I'm able to use hi-res modes in Workbench (3.1).

I think DPaint was always dodgy with WinUAE. I remember the RTG modes always crashed for me. If you can try Personal Paint by Cloanto, its a very similar (possibly better?) program, and works flawlessly in all modes from what i remember.

Get rid of it and try again. There is (or at least there used to be) a compatibility issue between DPaintV and Picasso when running under WinUAE, but I don't remember the technical aspects.

exactly Dpaint 5 not works fine in winuae or when P96 is installed

the best option is using Dpaint 4 AGA , it works fine even in RTG screens

DPaint IV is no different to V, still does not work on RTG screens at all.

DPaint hates Picasso96 (or vice versa). It has been reported discussed previously in this board and it is not emulation-only.

Thanks for the replies!

If I can get the 8-bit modes to work, that would be great. I'll see if I can get ver.4 AGA to work. JIT might interfere, so I'll try without that. I've spent a lot of time trying to find the most compatible settings and still maximise speed.

DpaintV is compatible with Cybergraphix and will work in RTG modes but some functions won't work in RTG. These include perspective and some of the drawing modes. For Winuae, the best setup is Picasso IV with Cybergraphix. DpaintV also has some issues with OS3.9 and it is best to use 3.1

There are many other Amiga software compatible graphics with Picasso 96, HERE long ago I reviewed it on someone Amigapage.
