AmigaOS4 Enhancer package, released by A-Eon.

Give the apparent death of Hyperion, It seems A-Eon are trying to push AmigaOS4 development on.

Enhancer package. http://www.a-eon.com/PDF/News_Releas...erSoftware.pdf 47.40 standard edition or 57.60 Plus edition, both plus fees. (price from AmiUpdate)

What if a user already owns the RadeonHD drivers / CANDI etc?

Keeping my views on the package, it's pricing and strategy to myself.

So Hyperion are definitely dead then, and the brothers Frieden who were the main developers have moved on to other things? Is there any announcement or anything?

Nope, no announcements, and nothing to make me think anything's changed. Most likely they're still working on the OS4 ports to new boards, albeit very slowly. This is an independent package of 3rd party software designed to run on OS4. It's not OS4 itself.

As for the OP, discounts are given to people who have already bought the Radeon drivers.

Don't worry, they'll come to life when there's an opportunity to make some Amiga developer's life miserable by claiming rights and whatnots.

I'm familiar with them. Protecting intellectual property is something all companies are obliged to do as failure to do so can result in a loss of that property. Whether we agree with it or not doesn't make a difference. Also, I don't really see the relevance to this thread, it simply looks like you're attempting to bring what appears to be a tired old personal grievance back into everyone's view.

Intellectual property games are indeed legal whether we like it or not.

And what I said is true whether someone likes it or not.

As far as relevance is concerned... well people were speculating on whether they are dead or not, and I merely pointed out that even though Hyperion may look dead they will spring to life when there's an opportunity to sabotage someone who's trying to do something for the 68K scene.

Whether I adore Hyperion or hate them has no relevance to my claims.
I'm either telling the truth (they do that) or I'm lying (they never did that).

It simply looks like you don't want people to hear about their practices.

I'm well aware of their practices, and I'm not a huge fan of them either. What I don't like is people polluting otherwise interesting discussions bringing up the same tired hatred. "We can hope" is hardly a constructive, relevant or even remotely interesting addition to the discussion. We've all heard it before, move along.

Fair enough. I'll save my comments for when they die for real.

My "apparent death" comment refers only to the total absence of releases and meaningful news from the company. The fact that a third party has (?had to) independently released an enhancer package which contains components that should be in the the OS is a very telling sign.

It seems to me that the AmigaOS4 world is fragmenting because of a stagnant OS IP owner and surviving because of active companies like A-Eon / AmigaDeveloper.com

I do not hate Hyperion. I simply have no trust or belief in them.
