Because humans are bad at assessing rates of events objectively. We notice the shocking ones and forget the overwhelmingly majoritary non shocking ones.

Also there is selection bias. Most video games people are not old enough to die. So the ones who do initially are going to die will be outliers who are surprisingly young.

Finally, our data sources are sparse and unlikely to be comprehensive and the sample size is likely to low to draw any statistical inference from it.
I am fairly sure that if one did the maths one would find out that everything is normal.

Many old timers have left us these past years, we just notice untimely deaths more vividly.

Computers (including screens) and cell phones emit no ionizing radiation at all, which is the kind of radiation that damages tissues.

The vast majority of non industry funded studies and meta-studies show no health effects from computer and cellphone radiation.
The sugar in your soda, potato chips and bad food in general are way more likely to kill you than your computer or cellphone.

If you look closely, you could probably find a correlation between bad food and computer usage. At least my very unscientific experience from demo parties suggests that.

Why don't we die early then? Most of us are in front of computers and other equipment which transmit radiation since childhood.

My guess is that you usually don't hear about people who pass away who you only know through boards and forums due to the fact that they're no longer around to tell you about it.. Some times you hear through their IRL friends, but mostly they probably just go AWOL from the forum.
