Of course, no rush what-so-ever.

You've got other more important things to work on like AlarCity

This is another project I just want to get out the door and be done with. I've zoned a (hopefully!) final version of this (WHDLoad).

* As before, the palette has been enhanced
* You can now jump with the second button (up-to-jump still works)
* Doors can be entered by pressing down (so a keyboard isn't required at all)
* You can also hold down to look down in certain parts

The pressing down to enter shops/look down can be a bit fiddly, particularly if you're standing on a ladder, hopefully it's not too annoying. You can still enter shops the old way by pressing space.

If there's no breaking issues, I'll whip up a trained and untrained ADF release as well.

* You can also hold down to look down in certain parts - The Scrolling down is a great feature yet again works great

Only issue for me with the WHDLoad version is that the music is running too fast in regards to what I'm used to.

Easily fixed by removing the "NTSC" tooltype from the icon though

Heh, fair enough

Done and done. I couldn't find a compatible non-trained ADF so I ended up just using the trained one by Varso and Musashi9.

Better off running it in NTSC. Much smoother, and no huge black bit at the bottom of the screen.

No thank you, the sped up music is not what I'm used to and just plain wrong...

Regarding the huge black bit at the bottom of the screen; as I usually tailor the resolution for games between either 640 x 480 / 720 x 576 (but keep original aspect ratio) and use centering; this isn't an issue for me.

Here's how it looks:

Hi earok,

Thanks for this

Any reason why you didn't use the same trained .ADF as you'd previous done i.e:

No worries!

Regarding the flashtro crack, it didn't work with this version for some reason. I figure the place where I put the patch was also used by the trainer for something.

Awesome work once again, mate! Thank you.

BTW, I hate the title pic. Is it possible to replace it with a nappy-free picture?

Cheers mate!

I would have loved to replace the logo but I think it's crunched in a custom format.

Good work but I think this game is a bad port anyway. Not much possible to do to improve. Good thing that you let go and do other things. On the other hand UN squadron is much better now.

Sounds like mcgeezers next port. Would be awesome to have the arcade version on the Amiga. This one is really bad.

Oh ok..... this means i will have to work out my magic again, because this game use a very special display (as usual with the sega systems, it's a mix between planar tiles and bitmap chunky).

I would prefer Black Tiger over Rygar and Monsterland.

Here's an interesting coda to the story.

Adrian Cummings (guy behind Doodlebug and numerous games under the Mutation brand) reached out when he saw that I had worked on a Special Edition hack of the game. It seems he made the very first draft of the title screen, which was later reworked by other artists. It's here, notice the huge eyes.

Also - the programmer "Laura P Paul" is actually totally fictional. There was no such woman, the name was used to represent all of the various people (apparently, quite a lot) that were involved in some capacity to get the game out the door.
