Game works in WinUAE but not CD32

Hi Guys,
I donít know if this is helpful for UAE bug fixing or anything,
but if thereís a known reason Iíd like to find out anyway.

In the Zone Iíve just uploaded a half meg CD ISO that is Galactic game
that only made it to cover disk, and somehow never a commercial release.

The CD image boots in both WinUAE with stock CD32 configuration,
and a real CD32 using the CDTV tm file, so should also work for CDTV.
The game only runs properly with WinUAE though. In the real CD32 it loads
and the graphics are a mess, and thereís no music.
Same if the game is loaded from floppy, HDD, CD32 expanded or not.
Making the CD was just a last ditch attempt to load it using minimal RAM.

Any advice to possible get it working appreciated
Cheers, Art.

Incidentally, is there a means to buy a legitimate copy of the CD32 developer tools?
The link from the tutorial to make the bootable CDs now takes you to someone’s home page nothing to do with Amiga.

I can see they sell Amiga OS4 and Workbench things, but not CD32 developer tool.
It’s called ISO tools or something similar.

The link should lead to the Amiga Developer CD v2.1, it contains the CD32 dev tools, too. But I didn't see it's out of stock, sorry.

This page holds the dev kits since years: http://www.cd32-allianz.de/entwickler/entwickler?
I don't know if it is legitimate, probably not.

Ok, thanks, yes that’s little problem. I already know where the tools are to use,
but it would be nice to buy them properly if someone still has a right to sell them.
Then you could put your name on your own software, or PD software compilations.

The CD in your first link thatís out of stock sounds like what I want.
I didnít see that before, my eyes went straight to images of products
Maybe itís a good idea to wait for them. If they are selling Amiga OS, surely itís not dodgy.

I think you have to use the WHDLoad install, it won't work unless you fix it yourself.

Switch off Chipset panel "Waiting blits". It is enabled by default because 68020 CPU emulation speed is not accurate enough.

Well, then this page should lead your eyes immediately into the right direction: http://www.vesalia.de/e_developer2.htm
Unfortunately out of stock, too.

It does look interesting, and I suppose someone somewhere didn’t get enough CDs made

Toni, it sounds you’re suggesting WinUAE will then stuff up the game like the real CD32 does.
I’ll go check.
EDIT,,, Ok, with the box unchecked it’s still playable in WinUAE,
but some sprites beginning to make a mess the way a CD32 would.

Ciao xArtx, i did not understand your problem and what game you're talking about. To create the bootable CD for CD32 Real, with MasterISO it is simple, if you have not seen them yet, I enclose my two videos showing how to create CDs bootable for the CD32 e CDTV.

Yes I can make the CD bootable (Itís in the Zone).
The problem was the game worked in WinUAE, but not a real CD32.
But the CD does boot in both.

The CD made with I burn starts also problems of a CD32 Real, in the past I have created so many CDs for my two CD32 base and CD32 SX32/030

On what operating system you burn your CD, Windows many programs does not support the native ISO Amiga, checks the contents of the burned CD, verify that there are all folders and all files, and that the file names are correct.

Dude what thread are you reading? Did you see what the original poster said?

He is expecting the game to behave the same way on WinUAE as it does on a real CD32. Graphical corruption occurs on real hardware and he isn't getting that on WinUAE. It's not a "burning problem"! He isn't trying to make the game work! This is a game known NOT to work properly on CD32! He is trying to help better the accuracy of WinUAE by reporting an unusual situation!!!

You need to stop pitching in on threads pertaining real hardware, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Your first message says "i did not understand your problem and what game you're talking about", which clearly shows, you should keep your mouth shut before confusing people with your drivel.

Game does not wait for the blitter and writing to BLTCON0/BLTCON1 can cause all kinds of weird undocumented behavior.

Running games designed for A500 without proper blitter waits on system with faster CPU (and 32-bit chip ram) can trigger this case very very easily.

Yes ok, have to call that a resolution then Thanks for replies.

Yes the CD burning is not a problem I’ve made other bootable CD32 disks,
and the binary for this game is intact because I can write it from the CD I made to a floppy, and then play the game an A1000

Ciao Amico, as I understand it, your intervention is not beautiful, unfortunately I do not know English well, i rely on Google Translator which unfortunately makes me realize evil speeches. An Italian proverb says: those poorly understood pain responds. Now after your speech I finally realized you could do it without offending people, anyway my speech "in any case" could be of interest and to please someone.

@ xArtx
If you tell me which game it is, I can test and advise me which degrader use to make it run on CD32 real, many games can be made using the utility degrader, other possibility is to use of CD32 the version WHDLoad.

It’s in the Zone called galling.iso.zip. (Galactic)
There is a program to trick OS to thinking the system has some Fast RAM,
but that doesn’t seem to help or hinder the game working on emulation or real hw.
