ADFRead util

I just saw this on the UAE site.

So, just to explain to the uninitiated, if I have two floppy drives, PC formatted in one, amiga (non protected) disk in the other, I can make an ADF?

Is this just as successful at reading possible damaged disks as a real Amiga floppy? I have no idea if the disks are damaged until I give it a spin.

Do the PC drives need to be internal, or will USB connected drives suffice? If so, this may be mega useful for my upcoming salvage operation.

It is too obsolete method today. It only works with mainboard floppy controller and only with quite old PCs, any modernish PC (if it even has a floppy controller), supports only single (A) drive. (B drive select signal is not physically available). If BIOS does not have B: drive selection: not going to work.

Kryoflux or similar device is much better choice today.

Perhaps an A500/A600 with 1MB memory and a bootdisk containing some imager, CrossDOS and lha. First, copy disk into adf on RAM disk, then use lha to compress the image straight to a PC formatted floppy. A bit convoluted, but is cheap and should work.

Edit: I have used this method on a plain A600, so I know that it can be done with 1 MB. A few images cannot be compressed to fit on a 720kB floppy but then lha can span it across two disks.

Ciao demolition, i think not want to do the opposite operation, convert real Amiga floppy in the ADF.

Regarding the conversion of an Amiga with ADF 600 1MB RAM, i confirm, you can use the MS-DOS installation floppy, or a CD player CD or an HD and use a good utility TSGui as shown in this my VideoTube:

thank you prowler.

well, as for a real alternative, the prices don't differ that much + kryoflux software is also avaiable for linux.
