Surprised that no one's mentioned Arkanoid yet...

Oops, looks like someone did....and I just didn't see the new page of responses.

Well i mentioned "Arkanoid clones"... somehow it didn't occur to me to actually mention Arkanoid itself!

Most Flight Sims I would imagine would be playable with keyboard only. I flew 2 full missions in F19 yesterday without a Joystick

Yup, flight sims and other 3D games (that don't have cars), Dungeon Master type games, Lemmings/Worms type games. Point and click adventures and shooters like Operation Wolf.

Also Resolution 101 and Rock'n'Roll. Dunno if there were other "arcade trackball/paddle type ports" to use the mouse to aim or roll like Missile Command, Blasteroids, maybe Rampart?

But yes, the big category would be 3D action or adventure type games that don't have cars in them.

Most crosshair games were played with a mouse, so yes Operation Wolf, Operation Thunderbolt, T2, Die Hard 2, Sharkey's Moll etc.

You mentioning Microbes had me intrigued as I remembered it as a joystick game. Loading it up confirms that, so scrub that one off.

Of course, this list overlaps pretty neatly with 'best games to play with a wrist in plaster' list. Or both wrists, in my case back in the day

Rings a vague bell, some kind of multiplayer 'put atoms into squares to stop your opponent claiming them' thing from an Amiga Power coverdisk?
