A/NES Pro v1.18 released

Today I released a small update for A/NES Pro, the NES-emulator for (high end) classic Amigas.
I've added (once again) the possibility to rip NES-music (by using the NESA-fileformat). This feature was in A/NES <v1.0 on the 90's, but got later removed when NSF (another NES musicfileformat) was released, but I decided to reimplement this again since NESA actually has a few benefits over NSF.

For the technically interested: A NESA file could in theory be played pretty easy on any platform (that obviously has a NESA-player). NSF is based on 6502 code and requires a 6502-emulator for playback aswell, NESA doesn't.

Anyway, hopefully someone else but me might find it useful.

As usual, the download can be found on my website

Thanks for the update

Right now i don't have my amiga to test it, what performance should I expect with a high end 030?

Thank you!

Probably pretty bad to be honest. Try using "frameskip" to speed things up.

Hi there,
i've just tried the emulator, but all i have is black screen, with a big White square. I tried with the minimum startup, same problem. I have a 1200 with 68060 Apollo @ 80MHz and 32Mb RAM. ClassicWB 3.9. Any ideas please?

Perhaps it's a ROM issue, try another one.

Not sure 030 qualifies as "high end". I'm guessing "Fast 040s & 060"

Unfortunately no, it isn't a ROM issue : same ROM is perfectly working on version 1.5.
I rolled back to the old version for now...

Hi, oRBIT. Can I ask a feature request for A/NES? I would like to see an option to replace the NES palette with a .PAL file please, if it is possible.

oRBIT, I will miss A/NES forever. I hope that someday you continue to develop it, on AmigaOS 3.x of course. Thanks for taking time to updating it for us.

EDIT: I replaced "lose" with "miss".

I guess you mean "miss" not "lose"?

Also, there is a "donate" button on A/NES site. I'm sure using it will help seeing future releases.

Quoted from the "News section":

2015-10-11: News update
My activity in the "NES-scene" has been very low lately. The motivation simply isn't there. I had hoped there should be a little more public interest in my patches but obviously I was wrong. Although it has been fun hacking NES-games, it's also very timeconsuming, and the lack of public interest doesn't really improve the motivation. I've closed the VIP-section for now (Thanks to those who did support me, I will not forget you). Time will tell what will happen to this website in the future.

Thanks, "miss" is exactly the word I was looking for, but didnt remember it ever existed. I did know there was something wrong with the way the phrase sounded.

Good perception about the reason which oRBIT had when him announced that would stop hacking NES games. When I read that him would stop hacking games my feel was him would stop to develop A/NES too.

Thanks for calling to my attention these details.
